What did you do to your TJ today?

Built a tailgate table for camping. More about this on my build thread.

Installed savvy body lift and brown dog mml. Geez, that passenger side mount was a biaatch. Body lift...super easy, except I broke one of the rubber grill radiator bump stops
I did this yesterday on my 02. The passenger side mount took longer than the driver side mount and BL combined. Ended up just pulling the entire assembly off the side of the engine and pulling the whole thing out from underneath.

Hey you must have flipped that picture cause the steering wheel is on the wrong side. :ROFLMAO:

If you stand on your head it looks correct haha

That’s a pretty good match.

Yeah 3rd time lucky...my TJ doesn't have a paint code on the sticker in the door jam so it was a bit of hit and miss....happy as a dog with 2 tails now though

That’s why I wait till Fathers Day.

I don't take my soft top off. Just the windows. I even was smart this last time I took things off, and just rolled the back window up. LOL So just had to put the 2 zipper windows in and unroll the back one. Uppers are the easiest of them all though. LOL

In all honesty, the temps aren't to bad to keep the back windows off, in the afternoons. It's just that I drive to work at 1am and sometimes come home at 6am. Those temps are the reason I put them back on. :D

When I used to live in Georgetown my Jeep didn’t even rate the carport and I don’t have a soft top, I learned the hard way. It’s nice that you have a soft top.

Ya I found a leverage point and used a tire iron to nudge it into place. Last thing for the day worked. Sucks I didn’t figure that out a few hours prior

Wife is at her parents, so I took the dog to my parents in the Jeeeeeeep. He didn't care. It's Sunday. Sunday is go to my parents day. Yay!

Answered a TJ rear bumper for sale ad on facebook marketplace. Went and picked it up later in the afternoon. I'd been wanting a Smittybilt SRC with tire carrier to match the front, but have spent sooo muuuch moooolah on the lift and tires and wheels the last 2 weeks, that I couldn't justify it right now. Plus, then I'd have to buy a matching 5th wheel and tire for the spare to hang on it, if I did. Still, I needed some kind of bumper. Anything, really.

But this was a perfect space holder. $100 and no spare provision. Will do just fine for now. Plus I may decide to weld up my own tire carrier.

Went out to eat and had a buddy help me recheck the toe. Was right at 72.5 front side and same back side. So, no toe in or out. Everyone headed home and I dug out the tools. Rolled the adjusting sleeve half a turn which should put it around 1/16-1/8 inch toe in. Probably not quite 1/8". Took it for a spin out on the highway and it seemed much improved, if not mostly eliminated any wandering. With the cruise control on, it was almost pleasant to drive. May give it another 1/4 turn and recheck, just to see. But otherwise, with the road manners well-behaved and having a bumper on the back so it looks like a complete vehicle, I'm pretty happy with it right now. It does need a SYE, but that'll have to wait.

I'm digging it.

What brand mirrors did you get? How's the quality?

Trying to decide which brand to get for my half door project.

I got the Bestop Highrock mirrors that are the 03-06 styling. I can't compare them to the OEM mirrors of that style, and they are completely different than the OEM 97-02 style mirrors.

Having said that, they are not bad. It was less than $100 for the pair. I went with the newer style because the whole mirror doesn't move, just the glass part inside the body of the mirror. I reckon that will be better in the wind than the style where the whole mirror moves and gets loose eventually.

The OEM mirrors were hit by hail.

Thanks. Those are one of the ones I'm considering. I've seen some say they vibrate a lot, but my '06 OEM mirrors aren't the smoothest either. LOL
