All, All of the bearings are stamped STD on them, with the exception of the one I grabbed out of the shed earlier, which is .001. That one is from the 3rd cylinder in the top position. I assume the new ones are all .20 under. So where does that leave me?
The rod journals didn't look bad, no metal scoring or scratching, just some wear points that showed a bit of darker area (in a few small areas). Same with the bearings. I wondered if they even needed to be replaced because they didn't look new but still good to go. The new ones are Clevite CB-960A-20.No, they are thicker. No. The rod or journal was probably a tad out of perfect spec.Funny observation here, the one bearing that is different size (.001) looks the most beat up of all of them. Do manufacturers make mistakes and throw in a .001 instead of STD?

When I tore down a Suzuki samurai engine every one was different -+.001 or so. Getting the tolerances just perfect is why we get 150,000 to over 200,000 miles out of stock engines. Try to get those miles out of a run of the mill reman.
