What did you do to your TJ today?

Finished installing my 1 1/8 in rubber spacers under my driver side seat. Had to go to Fastenal to find the longer 3 metric and one us screws. I’ll see how it feels tomorrow on my drive to the outer banks. I also replaced the Tj plastic license plate holder with a s/s Cj plate holder. When I get Ripley painted this fall I’ll have the old holes filled and the body smoothed out along with the other minor body work. I’m thinking about replacing the outside door handle units too. Anybody need a ‘02 Tj plate holder let me know [you pay the postage].

Made some extra room engine compartment. Realized it was time to man up and power steering is for sissy's and girls with nice tits so it had to go.

Can you tell us more about the overhead console? What is it made out of and how is it attached?
It's made of steel frame material which bolts to the windshield either of two ways depending on the year TJ you have. I got mine for 128.00 delivered. A very good deal for what you get! Check them out on you tube for a full description. I ordered from Quadratec. It was on sale there.

I was wondering the same. My guess is that they are polyurethane or some sort of hard rubber, mainly for added seat height. Sounds interesting if it also takes some vibes off your spine as well. But that’s also why we run 26 PSI in our tires, LOL.

Are you swapping in a manual box to replace the PS box?
Nope, notta uh uh. ended up deciding I must be a sissy because I don't have nice tits. :ROFLMAO: New pump and pulley, back to quiet again. Anyhow, yesterday morning on way to work went to turn into Wawa at 3:30am and out of nowhere heard a bad grumbling. At first I thought water pump was taking a dump and thought oh great just what I need on friday morning. But wheeled in and popped hood and it was coming from ps pump. Funny though could only really hear it while sitting still at idle, sounded like a bear eating rocks) but driving couldn't hear it at all. Ended up saying wth and took a chance and proceeded last 50 miles to work, still grumbling but no worse. Left around lunch headed home and about 25 miles from home smelled fluid and thought here we go. Seen it sprayed around under hood but couldn't tell where from. So pulley was still turning and ps was working so home it made it. Bought new one, wasn't thinking about pulley not on new one went to pick it up and seen I needed it so rented puller. Had a couple other things to get done so just figured I'd pop it off at home. Well same as any thing else on a jeep it wouldn't budge even with puller and ended up popping off lip. So ran up to O O O O'Reilly's(luckily just opened up one 3 miles up road from me) and grabbed new pulley and pulley press on tool and realized I need also. Damn if it isn't always something else. Came home pressed on pulley, installed pump, bled system and good to go again.

Guess I need to work on my tits now.

I changed the drivers side rear axle seal/bearing. The last two Timken ones leaked, so I'll give these Federal Mogul ones (even though the bearing says Timken) a try.

I cut up one of the rubber bumpers that I removed from the front bumper when I removed them and my milk jugs. About 1.25 inch worth of lift. I carefully used my table saw [push sticks and fences] to cut 4 squared up pcs about 1.25 x 1.25 x 2 inches. Then drilled holes for my bolts. Drove to my cas match today, 125 miles each way. Seemed to give me a little bit more leg room [I’m 6’4]. I don’t have quite as much room between my thighs and the steering wheel when getting in or out but no real difference after I’m in. The seat has a little flex but I don’t think it moves enough to matter. Plenty of headroom.

Got me samples of carpet for the jeep. Now to figure out what looks the best.

FYI the red was for my truck

Did you get the thick matting? I ordered the black, with the extra thick backing and the pad extra pad. I am kind of worried that with all of the padding if my new floor mats will let me work the clutch or not, but I am really excited about it being quieter and cooler. The steel floor is super hot with no carpet at the moment.

I should have mine here on Monday, so next week is going to get kind of busy.

I do like the dark grey from your swatches. Although the colors look fun too.

The samples i received have no backing per se. But i ordered one of the plush colors and am surprised by how much thicker it is from the normal. I just need to drive around for a while with the samples pinned on the center console and the floor to figure out what looks the best.

Ha you are definitely a better planner than me. I just jumped in head first. I was so excited after I got my driveline that I just wanted to drive my Jeep again, but the no carpet is so hot that the AC couldn't cool it down enough. It felt like I was driving with the heater on. I am pretty excited. I think if it is thicker than the stock carpet it can only be better right?

Bruiser finally passed the legal inspection.🥳. (new rear sway bar bushings and stabilizer links, New ball joints and track bar.)so I'm back behind the wheel and its feels much better to drive...allot more sure footed and not wandering about as much as it did...
So I took it for spin down an older coast road ....the sun was out....but a cold southerly wind, let me know its still Winter here.

Very nice! I’m glad Bruiser is back on his feet again.
