Hesitation issue

Have read a couple threads about this issue as it is right off idle and seems to do it more when it's hot but not every time but getting more often... thinking idle air think ...where is it located and will carb cleaner take care of it oh yeah 04 Rubicon

Ok so I cleaned the iac and it seems to be getting worse still no cel and it's just off idle pulling away from a stop ... read something about a possible vapor lock on #3 injector but I would think that would cause it to skip while idling also.. but I'm not a mechanic ...thus the reason for the post thanks in advance

You might check the spark plugs and the intake boot for damage. I'd start with simple easy stuff first. If it's getting worse you'll probably get a code that'll help you out soon.

I don't have enough information about your issue but when I had something similar it turned out my ignition coil was on its way out.

04 has three so it is a waste fire system, very important to run the correct plugs.

You might also look into the throttle position sensor, if it was failing it wouldn't throw a code. The Jeep would just think you are mashing the pedal. It can be tested with a DVM, I'm not suggesting you just replace it cause they are expensive and I'm cheap.

There are a few that work. I use the NGK 3459 v power so I can check them often when they need to be replaced. What are you running now and how do they look, that's the important part.

No clue had not had the jeep long and have not pulled them to inspect but guess what I'm doing tomorrow

It can be #3 , mine does it it hot with cheap gas , but doesn’t with non ethanol 93.

Look pretty evenly worn but looks to need replacing .... they are currently champion rc12ecc

This statement above is incorrect: There is a code, OBD ll code for Throttle Pedal Position sensor is P0123 # 10 Generic ( Switch "A" Circuit High )

It will throw this code if the TPS voltage to the sensor exceeds 4.94 for a period longer then 48 seconds
( most sensors activate codes )

Mine does it. IIRC, it's always done it (6 yrs). I've tried a few things, but nothing seemed to make a difference. Don't notice it too much when driving, but if I'm stopped, and I burp the throttle, it definitely cuts out before revving up, Even the lights dim. No codes.

I grabbed this from another site. I think it's correct.
