Which shocks for stock suspension?

Hello,

Which brand of shocks do you guys suggest for my 2006 TJ with stock suspension? I found some Bilstein 4600 series on tirerack.com for $84 each for the front and $93 each for the rear. Are those good?

+1 Rancho 5000x. I run a mostly stock/no lift Jeep and I replaced my shocks/springs at the same time. Came here with the same question and received many recommendations for these.

For the price, they can't be beat in terms of what you get out of them.*

*disclaimer: I have not personally tried any shocks other than OEM and Rancho.

Big fan of the Rancho 5000x also. And at just $50 a corner they are a steal.

X4 on the gas charged Rancho RS5000X recommendation. Don't confuse them with the older/far stiffer undesirable hydraulic RS5000.

"STOCK" suspension, why would'nt you use "stock" OEM Mopar parts ? Is there something wrong with them ?

Nothing against OEM parts, just curious if there might be a better option in the same, or close to the same, price range.

ain't no way in ha'ull I pay $400+ for shocks on a stock suspension.

doubt I will ever pay that for my lift LJ.
