What did you do to your TJ today?

My gmc high sierra hood springs came yesterday so today I’ve wire brushed them to clean them up. A temporary proof of concept as one was enough to support my tonneau. I had to turn them around though, they flex enough to allow my cover to slide up against the cab. I’ll use the screw that they are jammed against for the top anchor and I’ll have to make an angle and base for the bottom.

Looking slicker than snot on a wet raincoat (y) You definitely have a busy little back half on that tub. You gonna have to put Brinks logo's on the doors.

Let's here what you've done to your TJ today!

I'll start by saying I gave her the biggest, most thorough cleaning possible!
Washed the daily mud off of it. It took 8 dollars at the car wash and 1.5 hours of washing at home to get it all off. I love the fun of daily mudding but damn it's a chore to keep it clean. Luckily my jeep is bare and empty inside so I can just soap up/hose off the interior just like the exterior.

I installed Metalcloak's t-bar last week and today I finished up on the sway bar install (painted the bar, brackets, and installed Zone Off Road fixed links). Now I can dial my RS9000's back down to 3F/2R.

I finished up the jeep by installing filtered valve cores. Now I no longer have to remove the cores when I check PSI.

Stuffed a Rock Jock 60 into a Tj. I wish they would sell a package with all of the crap you need to finish it. 3/4 of an inch more clearance than the dana 44. Thanks to my friends who stayed and finished it really appreciated the help.
Front rear or both? I’ve got one in the rear of mine. Had it for about six years I guess. It’s been rock solid so far

Boring stuff. Took the passenger door apart and tightened the handle retainers. Hopefully that was the reason for the squek everytime I hit a bump on the right side.

But at least I got the bug out of the door that likely came in through the gap. I bet he was happy too. The door handle is a dumb design. Just put a couple screws in under the handle with rubber washers to hold it all down. Or at least stamp the sheet metal with a hole there for easy access.

Thanks! The next part is running a hose to the front bumper. I actually ran it, but still need to plumb it. I need to drill a hole in the front bumper, but I don't have big enough drill bits with me. Too busy to get to it this week-end, but hopefully next week. I will post pics when it is finished, but that is the last part.
Here are a couple pictures @ac_ hope it helps.

Rear, really glad to hear that I'm kind of brutal on rear end diffs. It looks so over kill I cant wait to get out and use it. Almost went with the G2 Dana 44 plenty of axel. WTF why not do it for the last time.
yeah I’ve got the rear with E locker and 5.13’s, chromoly shafts, and disk brakes. I have a CORE 44 up front and so far so good. Hope you enjoy it.

What year is your tj? My 02 times out the dome light about 10 seconds. Ran all summer doorless. Dome light always timed out.
Mine is a 98 and my dome light will stay on forever. I have all of the parts to wire it, I just need to find the time to do it. Pretty cool about your 02.

Nice. I think I finally have a plan, just need one more piece. I didn't wrap my line like you did. It was my plan, but I already ran my line, and unless I need to pull it apart, it is going to stay unwrapped. I think it is pretty safe, and the line was cheap, so if I have to replace it I will wrap it next time.

I will post pics of mine when I get it finished. I am hoping tomorrow, but I am getting dragged out to do some kitchen shopping tomorrow. As in new kitchen. Sometimes I get roped into domestication.

I was a bit surprised after reading different threads about tj dome lights. But when I removed my doors last spring I was ready with one of those switches you find online. That's when I realized my lights time out. Don't know if it's a year thing or maybe a Canadian tj thing as my tj was produced for their market.

This is how my '05 is too. My '97 would stay on forever. Well, until it killed the battery. :cautious:

Any chance that you could do a cover like that for the windshield vent. I’ve got a couple of broken pieces in the grid. They’re way too fragile. Just something that would screw over top or even slide into the recess if you broke them all out. Just a thought.
