Stupid question time, rear seat belts pushing through?

I know this is a dumb question with an obvious solution that for some reason just isn't presenting itself to me. My daughter has been having a helluva time buckling the back seat belt. Whenever she goes to push it into the latch, the latch pushes back and out the back of the seat (between the cushions). I have no issue with it but I'm an adult with larger hands. Our other vehicle has latches that are held in place but these are free moving.

What am I overlooking?

there isn't anything to hold them in place. You just have to hold each end of the seatbelt, may be tough for her depending on her age/ size.

Yeah it looks like I'll just have to help her out until she has the dexterity to do it alone. She's only 7 and is a tiny little thing. That or try and put some sort of donut on the strap to keep it from pushing through.

Maybe you could tie a hand towel or something around them to add some bulk to keep them in place.

It would probably be much more effective but she'd get really pissy when I try and peel it off her

X2. Adding some kind of loop or handle to the seat side should help a lot.

My wife found these, they work really well. I still have to help my 5 year old girl get buckled (she's tiny too) but at least the buckle doesn't slide through the seat anymore

As long as you understand they're made that way so you can flip the seat forward easily from behind.
