How do you get in your TJ

At 72, bad back, and only 5'10" with my TJ with 4" SL plus 1" BL plus 35" tires I just swing my leg up and pull myself in. :)
I use this same method but I'am much younger 65 in Feb. ") I also installed steps when around town and remove them when on the trail

Mine isn't lifted, so I just hike the leg up and get in. But, when shorter folks get in, they grab the roll bar handle and do the same lean back thing you mentioned. My only point in commenting was that I thought of a funny-ish story after I read your "lean back method". My Dad, who is short, was preparing to get out of the Jeep one day. He grabbed ahold of my shittybilt rollbar handle, got him a tight grip, then leaned back and pulled as he lifted his leg to get out. I'm over there getting out and not even looking anymore, but suddenly heard a crackling sound that was followed up by an "Ooof" sound from him, as his weight was quickly shifted into the console.😆

For some strange reason, the nylon handle was dry rotten and essentially turned to dust, literally. No idea why it did that, but it did. The nylon could be easily torn by hand.

I suppose this reply can serve as a heads-up for the leaners out there. I can only imagine how that would have played out if that happened when he was getting in, and not out.

HAHA, Thanks for ALL your comments. I sure appreciate the fact that I'm not alone :)
I never thought of the folding stool idea, DUHHHHH. I even have one in our camper for the wife to reach the upper cabinets. Guess its back to Wally World. Never thought I would need assistance getting in a vehicle at my height :)

Ha ha, my answer exactly . Take a run, jump, slide across the hood , land on other side , then jump in window and run from the cops . Basic southern training .
I agree with this style except for the "run, jump, slide across the hood , land on other side , then jump in window". I dont think it would work out in my favor or be very pretty. Now the running from the cops thing, well,,,,,,,,

At 6'2" and a 2" lift, I find it pretty easy to just throw my leg in and sit in it without much effort. I installed the nurfbars for my wife who uses them. I don't bother.

This is great . Spend all the time with her you can.

P.s. fine looking LJR man , really sharp.
She loves the LJR. She helped me with half on my 79 IH Scout II when I turned 17. Thanks for reminding me man...I let work and home life get in the way a lot. I do need to spend more time. Thanks again, Andy.

Loved my IH Scout ll; wish I never sold it. You only have one mother so make the moments shared memorable.

4 inch suspension lift and I use the step bars before getting in. Same method to get out to. I could step in/out without using the bars, but I don't want to wear out the side of the seat prematurely. Still too high for my mom though. I wanted to go the folding step route, but that idea got shot down.

I watched this TrailRecon video the other day. I think his approach to whether or not he should lift his wife's Jeep was a good idea. He basically wanted to make sure she could get in and out of it before he proceeded.

And as far as moms are concerned, tell her you love her at least once a week. I do every time she calls me. You never know when it's too late. Say it often. She already knows, but she will never tire of you saying it.
