Bringing this subject back up again.

I would like some opinions on combination of lockers whether it's Selectable up front and rear or Detroit locker in rear, lunch box up front.
Or true Trac in rear and a lunch box up front.

As far as a selectable locker I'm sure I'll go with an e locker.

I have Dana 30/35 differentials. I plan to go with a super 35 if I can't find a Dana 44.

Most of my offroading is trail riding, but I would like to be able to have the capability of lockers if the need arises.

Thanks

I'm planning on a 30 spline Eaton E-Locker when I regear. I'm currently running a Spartan upfront. I'd like to add an E-Locker upfront at some point but it's not high on the list right now.

John Currie recommends an Eaton Detroit front and Eaton E-locker rear due to the ability to turn off the rear for reduced turning radius unless you live in an area that sees heavy snow and ice. He recommends E-lockers front and rear in that instance.

Keep in mind that a Truetrac is a limited slip differential, not a locker. Lockers and LSDs are very different beasts. If a trail is tough enough for a locker(s) a Truetrac will not help. 20 years ago I had f/r Truetracs and they were so ineffective on the trails I enjoy that I was forced to replace them both with lockers.

A Detroit Locker is a great locker but not so much in the TJ's front Dana 30 or front Rubicon Dana 44 axles. They both flex too much for a Detroit Locker to be able to hold together.

Selectable lockers front and rear like ARB's Air Locker or Eaton's E-Locker are ideal. If that's too much $$$ a selectable in the rear with a lunchbox locker like an Aussie (clicks softly during turns) or No-Slip (silent during turns for $100 more) up front works well.

Why not just put selectable lockers (like ARBs or Eaton E-Lockers) in the front and rear? That's what I would do.

I don't see alot of snow, but on occasion we might get up to 10 inches. Might snow 3 time a winter, or not snow for three years .
And if I can I will take a ride in the snow.

I really like my ARBs. You would have no idea both lockers exist until you hit the switch. And they are durable units.

Dont even bother looking for a 44, go with a super35 since you already have the axle. Revolution Gear and Axle offers a super35 with an ARB or Detroit locker, 30 spline1541 shafts, and whatever gearing you want. Check out 4lowparts, they offer everything from RG&A and are great to work with.

Auto or selectable front, depending on snow.

Selectable rear to allow for tighter steering when needed.

I believe it depends on how much money you have and want to spend. I have a Detroit rear and spartan upfront, it works great for what I do. If money was not an issue I would have selectable front and rear !
