Just to further clarify, I post those just to show everything isn't so cut and dried. There are options and some are good and some are bad. My jeep is better after the lift but I'd have no trouble doing moderate offroading exactly how that setup was.You might be right on that - but the comparison was what I was looking for.
I'd much rather have the extra clearance under my diff than the half inch I'd lose to a bumpstop that should have been in there. Different people do different things.
It seems many are quick to tell people they are flat out wrong but there are gray areas and I honestly think people learn more by failing than following.
Part of the reason I moved over to this forum is a mod on another that continued to tell me I was wrong until I called him out for his BS and then the thread got locked and he went back and edited everything he said.
Further info, mine are the aluminum fenders I doubt that makes any difference and the rears are the ones cut for 37's. Everything else was stock except wheels and tires. I really like all my Metalcloak gear, great support and service and I wouldn't hesitate to use them if I did another TJ. Probably won't build another, won't sell my LJ either.
