What did you do to your TJ today?

She earned her keep today. I didn't have to break ice, but with the water temps still in the high 30s, I found ice several times.

Finally replaced the stock rear track bar and relocation bracket which had my axle 3/8" to the right. Installed a Supreme Suspension adjustable track bar and brought my axle back to center.View attachment 139658View attachment 139659View attachment 139660

Did you have to drop the gas tank skid or what? I'm stock height and I just absolutely couldn't get around it to replace mine this past weekend. Wondering if I just didn't jack it high enough and let it droop...

I had this annoying noise sounded like I was in a barrel when I went down the road. Had some play in the left rear wheel bearing so I spent the morning changing both rear wheel bearings. When the sealant on the differential cover has the recommended 24 hrs. on it I will fill it up with oil and see if I have solved the problem.

Update, still had the noise so I moved on to the ft. axle, it needed a new axle seal and when I spun the wheel brg hubs they felt a bit rough so I ordered a pair of those. But when I removed the carrier to replace the axle seals I found the culprit. ordered a new bearing kit and replaced the bearings. Nice and quiet now. Thank heavens.

I thought you were supposed to have a load on the suspension when you replace a track bar so it's adjusted to be centered at ride height? Asking because I have a new rear JKS track bar waiting to be installed.

Not Invented Here seems to be replacing a stock track bar. He mentions sitting at stock height.
You are correct, there needs to be load on the suspension when adjusting to center. I pulled the tires and put jackstands under the axle at close to normal ride height. Took cross measurements and used a ratchet strap to pull the axle the direction I needed. I was able to tighten the axle mount bolt before hand as the adjustable end is at the frame mount.

disconnect the track bar

that totally DID NOT occur to me and seems like an obvious strategy now. Good lookin' out.

@RipSteakface that was my plan too, jack up and let it sit on the frame rails, do my thing, and then reattach but not tighten both sides. Move jack stands to just under lower trailing CA bushing and let it sit on that (supported) to load suspension and then tighten down the bolts.

Finished my OME 2.5 lift.

Looks good!
I see the extra skid for the automatic transmission under there. Did you have any vibrations? How did you resolve them? What we're all the components that went into your lift?

I have a 2004 Sport Auto 4.0 with 2" BB and I spaced the skids and clearances the front drive shaft. I still have slight vibes and I'm about ready to resolve them. I figure the $12 in washers has had a good ROI since 2007 when I installed them.
