What did you do to your TJ today?

They really should have a filter for the phrasing for certain products such as body lifts and angry eye grills. lol

Today it wasn't so much what I did to the tj, but what it did for me. My son and I took the Jeep up into the mountains to go snowboarding on the last day of the season. Its shutting down a month early due to the virus. We got 4 feet of snow up there this week alone and the roads were nice and icy. The Jeep was as surefooted as a mountain goat and got us there and back again without a worry. Great day bonding with my son in this troublesome time.

Yeah... that's bad.
2 body mounts are ready to punch through, both roll bar main posts have seam damage, both rear floor pans might as well go and a torque box. All rotted or rusted at seams and weld points or where the sound mat seams let in years of moisture and trapped it.
This build is officially cancelled.
FML.

That sucks. Maybe consider it more of a buggy than a Jeep?!

Finished passenger side stock rear fender with Metalcloak mod cut fender. Need to play with it to try and bring the stock fender up to line up with the top of the MC fender backing. Also picked up some matching dull doors. 5% tint is waaay to dark.

They don't allow windshield tint in Cali, but my eye are also very sensitive to light. How is it driving at night?
Oncoming traffic is no longer an issue when the other drivers are using low beams. High beams are, of course, still noticeable. But the highs are easier on the eyes now.

Dark unlit/low lit parking lots, dark areas when backing up, and darkened intersections where traffic and peds are possibilities become a point in which more vigilance is called for when behind the wheel.

I tend to be pretty in tune while driving in all situations to begin with. Im not claiming to be the best, as we are all human. But its taken only a little getting used to.

Although I dont drive this particular Jeep much, if at all. My other Jeep projects have my attention 98% of the time.

My other vehicles are usually done near to this same standard.

Rainy, low lit roads are the biggest challenge. But even without tint and my eyes, its been a challenge in the past.

How do you guys like the Rancho shocks? I was just about to order the RS5000x
The ranchos are better than the bilsteins and ome nitro sports I've ran in the past. What I like about them is they handle washboard type roads much better than the others. The only thing is they run long so, typically you need to buy 1 size down from your lift size.

Interesting. So the ranchos 5000x that I bought for 2-3” lifts are most likely too long for my 2” BDS lift? I’ve been running these shocks for over a year now.

Are you running the 2-3” lift up fronts or the Longer ones with the MC fenders?

Thanks Alex!! More great information! I was looking at the 2.5"-4" for my rig. The lift was on it when I bought the Jeep and the guy said it's a RC 3.75" lift. So far all the parts I purchased to fix the suspension geometry (track bars and upper control arms) that should fit for my lift have come out long even collapsed all the way down. Do you know a good way to check how much lift I actually have?
(I'm sure I can look it up, but gives us something to talk about 🤙🏻)
