Your dream Jeep build

You win the lottery and get 200 million dollars. (Money won't be an issue) You go to your grandpa house and find an old beat up Tj, and its in really bad shape. You look around and realize that it may need a new engine. It also has a lot rust and rat poop. Its just a huge mess. Your grandpa sells it to you for 400 dollars. The journey has just started with your make your dream Jeep.

I know a lot of people are stuck at home and hope you can have fun with this!

I didn't win a Lottery or anything but I did think I could build the rig I wanted and made a ton of mistakes in the process. I didn't have a clear picture in my mind of what I wanted to do. Plus I got totally caught up in having all the KEWL stuff on my Jeep. Onboard Welder plus Wire Feed welder, air bag suspension & the newest/hottest long arm suspension on the market at the time. Bigger engine and KEWL new transfer case.

From your description the TJ in question might be better left where it is. I'd find a clean unmolested TJ/LJ to start with.
If I could go back I would have traded my TJ in and gotten a LJ just to have the added storage space and the longer WB.

If money wasn't an issue, I'd start with an LJ. I'd run the Genright Tracer LJ setup with King coils, some full float Dana 60's, 40's w/ beadlocks, LS3 swap (maybe a diesel?), aluminum highlines and fenders, Bedrug carpets, cage, PRP seats, aluminum bumpers... Yeah I can do this for hours lol

First I'd pay off any debt we have. Buy a diesel truck and a nice aluminum trailer with cash. Then I'd buy a place with a nice big shop and buy a welder (all with cash) and learn how to use it.

Then I would turn to the jeep I already have and get aluminum body armor, 12" fox resis up front, savvy rocker guards, PSC steering, Savvy aluminum bumpers, an Atlas, and then see what I have left!

20k might get my axles and steering built on a dream build. I mean I’ve got about 11 in my current axles and steering set up. And it’s no where near what my dream set up would be.

Wow! Either I lack imagination or am just getting fat, old, and lazy. But to be honest a LJR gets me like 95% there. I'm on the east coast so I'm not big into rock bouncing. I've slowed down into more of an 'overlander' kind of guy. Some better bumpers, a winch and decent radio would be nice. A diesel engine (but the cost will never make the fuel mileage worth it). Just a nice comfy ride that can get me to the prime camping/ fishing spots. Wow! I really AM old! Guess the mirror was right.
