Front bumper

I got my bumper from Nate's 4x4. It is my understanding he had some fulfillment issues (slow delivery) but brought in a mgr to manage the operations end of the business. Mine was delivered in about 6 wks and I paid 280ish delivered raw. I have a write up on here if you want to search for it. I personally won't hesitate to order from him again and do plan too. I really like his rear bumper design.

Is it very expensive to go from cable to rope?

A good quality, 100' synthetic line is $300.

I forgot who exactly it was, but a knowledgeable sir on this forum explained to me that Warn used to sell their winches with steel line with Hawse fairleads.

I want to eventually get a synthetic line solely to cut down on weight. It also is much safer than steel line.

Make sure you get a 3/8" synthetic rope, 5/16" is just not quite enough for synthetic rope on a Jeep.

Steel line requires a steel hawse fairlead if you go non-roller. Just wanted to add that as steel line would tear up an aluminum hawse fairlead designed for synthetic in no time flat.

Went cheap and got one off ebay for $150 shipped. Had to do some work to make it fit right (added some spacers as the upper and lower tabs were too far apart) but it's actually pretty stout for what it is. Also cut off the light bar tabs that were on the hoop. Sorry the picture kinda sucks.

I personally am a big fan of one particular bumper. I've used it on both my TJ's and it held up to everything. Holds a winch, hooks, and has mount holes for a bracket to hold a Hi-lift if you like carrying one with you. It's also customizable with a non-included sawzall.

It's made by a small company that goes by Jeep and if you look hard enough you can find them for free which lets you spend more on other stuff.

Robert from Dirtworx emailed a tracking no. for my front & rear bumpers shipping today. I will have a report on them when they arrive next week...

He was very good to work with - answered my questions right away, and returned emails promptly. My bumpers took a bit longer, but in the middle of it he had to leave town for a family emergency, understandable. I really liked working with Robert.

That's who I'm going with for my rear bumper. I ran his rear bumper on my first TJ in the pictures above. This was back when he only offered em on Ebay.

I seen one of his bumpers on a local YJ. It was unmistakable due to it's quality and design. I need a hitch so his bumper will do fine without hurting the bank and I can finally remove the low hanging ugly hitch on my 4runner.

That was my initial plan - to get a rear bumper with a hitch instead of adding a separate receiver. The Dirtworx, from all I read about, was just the ticket. Somewhere in the process, I decided to go with a front bumper also, so here we go. I'll see how it works out...they definitely look very stout. I have not yet decided on the finish to apply. I may get a couple of powdercoat quotes prior to making my decision. The side rails I have are finished with a crinkle powder coat, I may try to match that...
