I had some fun this past weekend. Nothing serious as I'm very new to wheeling and I've never wheeled this Jeep. I fell in love with it and I'm really looking to do more technical trails as I build this Jeep.
Oh nice! Yeah it was hot both Saturday and Sunday. The three of us are pretty inexperienced so we stayed off the Comp Course (Sunday) and Reds and Black trails.I was actually out there this past Saturday as well. I think remember rolling by your campsite to get into the park because the regular entrance was for the comp guys only that day. It was hot, but was a great day.
I was rolling with a pretty hardcore crew that day. I was with 2 other TJs, 1 with an LS with tons on 37s and the other on tons and 40s. I had the "baby" TJ with 35s. We ran Reds and the occasional black. It was a heavy run for sure.Oh nice! Yeah it was hot both Saturday and Sunday. So glad to see more Jeeps from NY! The fourth picture from the top on this post is definitely Ride of the month material. Just saying.I had some fun this past weekend. Yeah, his rig is a beast. He also has a front and rear stretch as well.Ok, I know I heard your group roll past cos I remember loving the sound of that LS.
Thank you, maybe its time to put in for Ride of the Month! I didn't feel like it would be appropriate until I cut my teeth on some trails. So glad to see more Jeeps from NY! The fourth picture from the top on this post is definitely Ride of the month material. Just saying.
Glad to hear you guys had some fun. I am dying to ride out there with my kid and camp for a long weekend.
Thanks, I went back and forth for a long time between this color and desert storm. The Jeep was originally a darker green and somewhere in the decision making process (and probably a few beers) I landed on OD Green.Dig the color
Nice rig! I've gotta get out to Rausch soon. Been to AOAA and taking Offroad consulting 101 there in a few weeks.

I would love to try this place...what is minimum rig set up out there? I have a 1.5" lifted X 05, auto, 4.0 with 31.5 tires. Are there trails to do there for a basically stock set up?
The park is set up into categories of trail difficulty, green (easiest), blue, black, red, and @sjalkian , just kidding, but not really.
Yes, that is the guy you met. Since you saw it he put an LS in her and now she roars. We went rock creek to death trap, then came down 16 to otter's, up 13A, then trail 20. We popped over to NE and hit F* backwards from the N4 side. The day was action packed to say the least.that's a great course, I did that and the 201 a few years ago. Learned a ton while getting a full day on the trail with an awesome guide. If you're lucky Kyle will be your guide, great guy with a cool LJ
is that the due I met? Loved that rig
there is no minimum, you can go with a stock TJ & enjoy a decent sized chunk of the park. The only 'requirements' to get in are a full size spare tire and recovery points front & rear. The greens are the most abundant and can take you through the entire park, many of them are essentially dirt roads but some can get somewhat challenging and fun. The main thing that designates the differences is rocks (volume & size), so a green trail can get very steep/twisty, it just won't be littered with rocks...
As you go through you will pretty quickly want to step up to a blue.

That’s us on a red trail about an hour into the day. Cemetery I think? Meanwhile I’m back here with an open Dana 35 on 35’s, no armor couldn’t have done it without him and Kevin spotting me though! Made it through with only a slightly bent belly pan.
We had a stock JKU in our group with all season tires (full air pressure, sway bar on) and she made all the green trails. There was only one spot we gave her an assist on and that was an up hill green with a steep exit point onto another green with a sharp 90 degree turn. Your rig will do well at Rausch Creek on greens and blues I would say. It's even better with a group and you have a winch.I would love to try this place...what is minimum rig set up out there?
