First, this is not a political thread. This is not about kneeling, special interest shoes, or anything of the like. This thread is to say what team you cheer for and anything interesting that goes along with that.

Personally, I have always been a college first fan. Unfortunately, my team (Penn State) isn't playing this year. My NFL team is the Eagles. Since moving back to the states my kids are super into football. It's turned into a weekly time where we all get together and watch the game.

Good luck to all of your teams, unless your a Cowboys fan.

I'm not really a football fan but if I was I'd want to support Green Bay because their city owns them and they can't threaten to go somewhere else if they don't get a new stadium or whatever. I guess maybe I wouldn't be so much a "football" fan as a Green Bay supporter.

My wife is a die hard Steelers fan, some of that is because her father loved the Browns. I think the rest of that is because the Steelers and the Cowboy's were a huge rivalry in the 70s, she was young and the Steelers are much closer to us.

We've only been to two Steelers games. One they won, one they lost.

I don't know if I mentioned it before, if so here it goes again. Living half way between the Browns and Steelers is a strangely interesting experience. Where I worked for 20 years most of my coworkers were Browns fans. Two things that I always heard from them:

"We're going to the Super Bowl!!" and sometimes "We're going to win the Super Bowl!!" Both of which still haven't happened but usually started right around draft time and rarely ended until at least a couple more losses past the obvious.

Why would anyone from Ohio support the Steelers and not the Browns? My usual response to that was "What about Cincinnatti?"

Any Browns fans here won't be offended by my post, they have to be smarter then the guys I worked with.

Eagles in the NFL and Northwestern for college.

My dad went to Penn so I grew up watching them. Always been a Paterno fan.

After I got stationed on the Fl Gulf Coast I got into the SEC thing, I haven't experienced a fanbase like that ever. I remember walking into a Ft Walton Beach Walmart for the first time and seeing SEC coolers stacked up - I didn't get it. The concept of a conference fan was never a thing where I grew up, but I adopted it and got to enjoy a lot of great SEC games. Never had a dog in the fight but I loved watching the Iron Bowl every year.

I remember the first time my mom came down to visit, as we were driving though my neighborhood she said "boy there sure are a lot of people in this neighborhood whose last name starts with A, huh?"

I said "Mom, what the hell are you talking about?"

She said "All the little flags on the mailboxes with the A on them".

I said "No mom, that's for the University of Alabama."

She said "Oh, we're not even in Alabama. So all these people went to college there?"

:ROFLMAO:

As for pro, I grew up outside of DC, so I've been a Skins fan going back to about '89. My mom lived in a townhouse next to Stan Humpries, I used to mow his lawn for $10. I fell off of it though recently, and now that they are the "Football Team" I don't even know where to start.

Go Blue! It's their time this year.

Pick a winner.

I don't watch football, but my wife does. This picture was taken about 1/4 mile from the house I grew up in and my parents still live in. My wife is from the Columbus area. She was a Steeler fan, but when moved to Tennessee 20+ years ago she has been a Titans fan. Eddie George playing here made it easy for her to switch. She focuses mostly on college though.

Go Bills! Proud member of the Bills Mafia since OJ was killin' it on the field and not in the alleyways.

Don't know, don't care. Every school I ever went to, the team was referred to as Blue. Yet everyone seemed to know what the other was referring to. It's all the same noise to me.

My wife is from Buffalo and is much more of a Bills fan than I am a Skins fan, so there's Bills shit all over my house. And my garage. And my TJ.

I've always been impressed by your fanbase. The D.C. area is so transient that it's hard to find a Skins fan like a Bills fan. I remember one of the first times visiting Buffalo to meet her family when we were dating - it was gameday and I took my car to the store to get some last minute stuff for the game. There were Bills jerseys EVERYWHERE, the pregame radio show was broadcasting on the grocery store PA, I heard the same coming from people's cars at stoplights, and I could hear the pregame coming out of people's houses while walking the dog down the street before the game.

Also, in our travels up & down the east coast my wife NEVER had a problem finding a Bills bar. Not a sports bar, I mean a bar where everyone was decked out in Bills gear to the point it felt like she was back home. Pretty cool.

Green Bay. If you live in WI, you had better root for the Pack. There are team owners (people who own stock in the team) all over the place. Also follow the Wisconsin Badgers, even though I went to Penn State a loooong time ago.

Keep hope as the B1G is meeting again and hopefully voting to start the season soon.

Go Bucks!

NFL - Patriots. I’m from MA so I’ve been a fan my whole life.

College - no teams I care about in the northeast so I don’t have a good answer.
