What did you do to your TJ today?

Put my TACO RATED 4x4 badges on and give it a bit of a clean!
Putting together my hitch basket carrier next, should have bought the one that fits on the tire carrier :(

Looks good. Your new badge just helped me decide where to go for lunch today. Taco Bell has a new loaded nacho taco for $1.

Do you think the gear shifter would bend that easily? I’ve considered bending mine so it fits better in the shifter and doesn’t hit my console.
I recently bent my 6 speed shift handle and my Ebay purchased straight transfer case shifter with propane torch, pipe wrench, and vice. Right as I was thinking I needed to borrow a bigger pipe wrench I pulled my vice off the workbench tearing the work surface apart. It was attached through the 3/4 inch work surface and into 2 x 4 with lag bolts. You could say I needed to get it hotter but in the transmission shifter in particular there is a rubber bushing where it attaches to the shifter and it was starting to melt so I did not think I should get it any hotter. I got them both to bend enough but not really as much as I wanted to.

This reminds me of British Ford Cortina's, a cross over Choice of standard "Long stick" or "sporty short stick" TJ,s are a definite "Long stick" lol, Only Cortina MK1-MK2 drivers would understand this :)

Went on a run last evening in the snow. Probably 10-12 inches in the hills. 4 people in the Jeep and we had a blast. Can’t believe how well it did with 307 gears. Just used low range. Open diffs and all. Went anywhere we wanted to. I may just have to rethink steeper gears. I was worried about not having enough power to spin the tires with an auto trans, but we never had a problem. I may just install the locker in the front and let it go!

You know, the older I get, the more often I do stupid stuff. I took the aftermarket straight stick off of the xfer case shifter to dog leg it. I was very careful in determining the correct direction to bend it, etc, etc. And yes, you do see this coming...

I heated it up with a propane torch, put a beautiful bend into it, let it cool, primed and painted it. As an aside, I have forgotten how S-L-O-W black paint is to dry. Went and popped it back in the Jeep, and THEN noticed that I had bent it the wrong way!

So I got to do it again. Came out just as good, but I have to let the paint dry overnite now as its almost mosquito time...
All done now:

In 4-low. Note space between shaft and end of slot that wasn't there before. Darn camera focused on the face veil instead of the gearshift...

Contrast to what it was before:

And in 2-hi:

Heard a new rattle in the back. Tracked it down to the cover inside the hard top, looks like one of the tabs broke. Threw some double sided tape on it, hopefully that keeps the rattle down

Oh boy, where do I start?
•Made a cellphone mount bracket
Rewired the big three
•Added the windshield frame slots for the trim pieces on my rust free replacement frame
•And the PITA; removed the rusty tailgate and discovered I have the wrong replacement hinges🤦‍♂️

BTW, I'm looking for the proper hinges

Finished the OME HD lift. InstallEd the JKS quick discos as well.
Don’t notice any driveline issues at all. Little bumpy though. Not sure if it’s just the stiff shocks, the HD springs, being new or not having any weight in the back.

i’ll have to experiment with it a bit. Maybe once I put a different rear bumper on any of my tools loaded up in the back it will smooth it out. And it might settle a bit.
