nothing special, just cleaned the engine compartment. Didn't think it was that bad, but had a pretty big mess under the Jeep when I was done.
Do you think the gear shifter would bend that easily? I’ve considered bending mine so it fits better in the shifter and doesn’t hit my console.
Looks good. Your new badge just helped me decide where to go for lunch today. Taco Bell has a new loaded nacho taco for $1.Put my TACO RATED 4x4 badges on and give it a bit of a clean!
Putting together my hitch basket carrier next, should have bought the one that fits on the tire carrier

I recently bent my 6 speed shift handle and my Ebay purchased straight transfer case shifter with propane torch, pipe wrench, and vice. Right as I was thinking I needed to borrow a bigger pipe wrench I pulled my vice off the workbench tearing the work surface apart. It was attached through the 3/4 inch work surface and into 2 x 4 with lag bolts. You could say I needed to get it hotter but in the transmission shifter in particular there is a rubber bushing where it attaches to the shifter and it was starting to melt so I did not think I should get it any hotter. I got them both to bend enough but not really as much as I wanted to.Do you think the gear shifter would bend that easily? This reminds me of British Ford Cortina's, a cross over Choice of standard "Long stick" or "sporty short stick" TJ,s are a definite "Long stick" lol, Only Cortina MK1-MK2 drivers would understand thisI recently bent my 6 speed shift handle and my Ebay purchased straight transfer case shifter with propane torch, pipe wrench, and vice. none but I was only putting in a few degrees of adjustment to clear my Tuffy consoleNo heat?
All done now:You know, the older I get, the more often I do stupid stuff. I took the aftermarket straight stick off of the xfer case shifter to dog leg it. I was very careful in determining the correct direction to bend it, etc, etc. And yes, you do see this coming...
I heated it up with a propane torch, put a beautiful bend into it, let it cool, primed and painted it. As an aside, I have forgotten how S-L-O-W black paint is to dry. Went and popped it back in the Jeep, and THEN noticed that I had bent it the wrong way!
So I got to do it again. Came out just as good, but I have to let the paint dry overnite now as its almost mosquito time...
Stock on '05/'06 TJs. I'd rather have a rubber one, but it is what it is.Zobra , where did you get your leather shift boot from ?
