Antirock install for the front KP60 started yesterday. New design is slick

Put some Hella h4 housings and Silverstar Ultra bulbs in yesterday. Did some aiming, need a smidge more, but holy cow, what an improvement.

Today (sorely needed vacation, day 1), I replaced all the battery cables with the basic upgrade from custombatterycables.com. 40 degrees and drizzling, but done. Got the power wires for the new amp loosely run. Mount for the amp is done. Just need to bolt it in, hook up the power wires to the amp, reinstall the radio and put the dash back together. I'm ready to fire up the new sub. Here comes the...BOOM! Ready or not....

Ok. Not really. But some bottom would be nice in the tunes. Maybe tomorrow. But it's supposed to be 30 degrees. But the heater works! So, maybe.

Man I sometimes think I'm getting too old to be doing anything more than driving my TJ lol. Today I ended up welding my upper rear passenger-side control arm bracket back onto the axle tube. It tore completely away from the axle tube at some point on the Rubicon Trail I recently completed, I sure don't recall anything specific that would have caused it. Other than the factory only welded it on two sides, I welded it back into place on three sides so it's not likely coming off again. Mrblaine just don't look too closely at my welds next time you see my Jeep lol, though they're not too bad and they look up to the job. Getting things tore down enough so I could weld all sides of that stupid bracket wasn't too bad but now I'm taking a break getting everything put back together. Getting that right-rear spring back in will have to wait until tomorrow or later in the week.

At 72 I figure I'm gonna have to start paying to have more of this shit done before too many more years go by lol. P.S. Blaine the bracket wasn't noticeably bent like I expected it to be so I decided not to replace it.

I’m not doing anything in my TJ anymore since I’m working from home. I use our other vehicle (lease up in July) for all my vehicle needs to keep the miles down on the jeep, plus I’m way overdue on the timing belt so don’t want to risk it.

I feel like my TJ is my fun weekend vehicle now rather than my daily. Only taking it out when it’s sunny

I put about 300 miles on my Jeep in 2020, and it's my daily driver right now lol.

Jerry did you have to remove the axle completely? my bracket did the same thing the other day! Trying to gauge whether to tackle myself or have it done. If you could share the steps it took to get it done would be most helpful.

I left the axle installed, I just jacked the frame up to let the axle droop after unbolting one end of the track bar. It drooped enough to almost give me good access.... not good access but enough to get it welded to my satisfaction with some body contortions lol

I'm sure steam cleaning works great. When I first bought my Jeep I took all seats out and used carpet cleaner, a brush and hose. The dirty water from the first rinse was dramatic.

33's are what I'm running. I plan to stick with that size.

The "StreetRays" 1-1/4" seat riser kit was installed today. The only negative is that the washers are too small on the three smaller diameter bolts - they barely cover the holes in the seat rails. I'll get some larger washers at Ace tomorrow - otherwise, this kit is GTG, American sourced 8.8 hardware, machined aluminum blocks, etc.
