What did you do to your TJ today?

That was one of the first upgrade I did. 02 Sahara and at stock height I didn't feel I could see the trail immediately in front of the jeep and I'm 6'. With the risers my view is much improved.
At only 5" 9' would I need to sit much further forward with the seat risers? I am happy with seat position/steering wheel for comfort but I just cant see beyond the hood which feels strange when driving in tight traffic lanes causing me to correct my lane position all the time!

Cheers

I think it will help you. I feel like I’m sitting high but it’s just going to take some getting used to. The sunshade had an effect where it lowered the ceiling so I didn’t feel like I was sitting low but without it in I definitely felt like the seat was low.

finally got around to switching out the rear lights to the grote's with the back up light:

Any other advantage other than a new Alien shade hat :) lol, I cant see over the hood on my 06, I could on the 99 I borrowed for a few months, will this make the seats too high I am 5' 9 ?
It would be perfect for you. I liked how the older TJ seats were higher. I install seat risers in all of my 03-06' Jeeps. I'm 5' 9" short too.

Our TJ is in like new condition & we are fortunate that we can keep it in the garage when we’re home. We got a custom Jeep cover from car covers.com for those times when we’re RVing or volunteering in Texas state parks.
It seems to be very nice.

My seat position didn't change but my knees don't feel like they're sticking up. It put my legs in a more natural position

Changed the oil and filter, greased her and re-torqued the body bolts. Have one Zerk fitting that is squirting a little grease through the threads. Snigged it a tad but still leaked. I might try some pipe dope.

Added a RAM phone mount to the dash, I didn't trust the dash at 19 years old so I put a fender washer on the underside to help support it. I am going to have to find a new to me dash as mine is missing some small parts.

This is exactly what I'm about to do very soon. Except I'm gonna get the crown upper dash panel and mount the xram diamond base in the middle because it looks pretty much like the same shape. And run a X grip mount for a large phone on a mid length arm.

today I lined up my Mopar soldiers for the eventual return to a stock appearance. I bought all this stuff used & just for shits & grins I did a cost of new comparison, as close as I could get anyway. I was a bit surprised to learn how expensive the replacements were. See below

IMG_7715.jpg

These prices were mostly from Rock Auto today, generally similar to other sources:

Front Bumper:

Mopar steel bumper: $143

Mopar bumper pads: $107 each = $214

Generic OEM bumper ends (jugs): $11 each = $22

Smittybuilt OEM tow hooks (Amazon): $36

Sub-total: $415

Rear Bumper:

Mopar steel bumper: $260

Generic OEM bumper ends (jugs): $11 each = $22

Sub-total: $282

Frame Cover:

Mopar: $88

TOTAL COST FOR NEW: $785

What I paid:

Front Bumper
: Fully intact except hooks, needed a minor sledge hammer beating in one spot & a can of Rustoleum black satin paint: $60

Paint: $7

Tow hooks: $36

Sub-total: $103

Rear Bumper:
Fully intact with jugs and hardware, mint condition: $80

Frame Cover: Came free with front bumper purchase, painted it with above can of paint.

TOTAL USED: $183

SAVINGS: $602

Finally got the #HelLJ out on some dirt! Man did I miss this.

The swap turned out better than expected. After a toe in and Kingpin adjustment, the jeep drives perfectly straight, not a shimmy or shake up to 110 km/h. Works great off road.

Still need to wire up my front Locker. Also discovered that PSC Hydro assist will be coming sooner than later. My stock pump was angry in the tight trails when testing..
