How warm is the inside of your TJ?

Ibasket I will check my dash vent discharge temp soon and let you know what I find.
My TJ is OK as far as output. I never run the fan over the 2nd position after it melted down the heater control:rolleyes:.
I guess it all depends what your used to.

Replace your HVAC Blower motor. As they age, they draw more and more current which results in blown resistors and melted connections. Its a pretty easy and straight forward job. New motor costs $30-40 for generic- $100+ for Mopar.

Unfortunately this has nothing to do with OPs lack of heat. Mine gets quite warm even though I have issues with it blowing out of the selected vents and a missing piece of the intake duct causing cold air to come in behind the dash.

Thanks! I do know this is the issue with mine. I haven't got around to the the fan R&R
just lazy I guess since the heat is OK

What is this "cold weather" of which you speak. 85F here today. I could bake bread in my TJ with my Hardtop and the heater on high.

You know like when the temperature "plunges" to 60F in FL and everyone is in sweaters AND coats:D.
It's OK we will think of you this summer when your at 95F and 98 percent humidity.;)

Ha! A lot of great things about CO, but I wouldn't complain if I moved somewhere that never got cold. Then I wouldn't even need to worry about this repair!

BTW ColoJeep, I really love the color of your Jeep. Can't place why exactly, though...

Warmer than -4F, even without a back window.

Yeah I've got a problem then. Glad all the CO jeepers are showing their keeping up with this crazy weekend's weather. Big dumb for not testing the heat in the Summer when I bought it, since I needed it specifically for Winter...

Is that mirror aftermarket? I wish mine showed temp like that

Just remember all the hot women are wearing daisy dukes and bikini tops here. Today even and especially on those couple days when it might be 95. I live along the ocean and in fact seldom breaks 90.

I tell all the young women they should move here. And all the dudes "you won't like it. 95 humid, bugs, traffic. don't move here!

Improving the odds one at a time!

Sounds good! You lucky dude
BTW... are any of the women under 85 years old? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I have been to Merritt Island , kind of cool place to see. Glad we can give each other some static
on the best TJ forum out there! Thanks Hokahay!:)

I love FL, just got back from a week in Ft Lauderdale! Not sure I'd want to live there though, between the massive bugs and heat/humidity. I've been shoveling rocks through the weekend and can't imagine that being enjoyable in high heat/humidity.

For vacation though, amazing. As long as I can wear shorts and start off with mimosas every morning, which FL is amazing for.

That was my old joke. I am a software engineer and telecommute to the office in st louis.

THey would as me how it was on the beach in FL. Its great I said six girls suntanning topless right now. You suck they said.

could be better the youngest one is 75. I replied.

On the other hand my new bride is 20 years younger than I am.

Groucho Marx said" you are only as young as the woman you feel."

Also I am originally from Nordaktah.

I worked outside 35 below, We didnt score with wind chill.

Just think, who would think we would meet today? All thanks to Ibasket
semi freezing in his TJ.
IBasketI will check the Air discharge temp!
Funny how these things can get off track,LOL! :p

Below zero, my soft top Jeep is toasty warm. Usually have the heater on the second or third setting.i am amazed how well the heater works.

Just took a drive and cranked the heat again. My built-in temp sensor says... not hot enough. Honestly I'd guess it's coming out at maybe 60 degrees? It isn't cold air, but it absolutely cannot warm the inside of the jeep. It can make it "more bearable" but not much else. I don't think I need to spend money on an IR gun to be able to tell it isn't hot enough!

Good to meet you guys too, appreciate you making me miss FL already! I only left last Sunday I can't take another vacation yet!

Hey Gang, @IBasket, here’s a tip some might remember.
Put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator when the temps get too low. It helps keep the temps up for the engine, a good thing, and for your heater core. Just remember to take it out before summer temps, or sooner.

I didn’t start driving legally until the late 70’s and that is something I had to do in Montana where it gets really cold for weeks at a time and I wouldn’t get off work until two in the morning. Now I’m back in the cold region but I don’t need to go out when it’s cold if I don’t want to.

Thanks for the tip. Good idea if it's super cold... although honestly the 4.0 heats up significantly faster than any other car I've owned before!

Do you think this will help the heater core if my engine is already at temp? Because it's just using my coolant I think

You might be careful with the K-mart cold front, (cardboard).
If your engine is coming up to temp OK , using cardboard can overheat the engine
and NOT change the heater output.
There is a learning curve to use it correctly.
Be careful if you go down this road!
If it's -25F for a week, then maybe, but for normal front range Colorado temps, not so much.

How warm is it in mine? It depends on how high I turn up the heat and how long it runs.
