Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

I tacked the frame sleeves in place and then removed the steering box. Then worked on getting everything welded.

Some of my welds were trying to win the GOBBER award so I took the grinder to them with a flap wheel.

And I have a heck of a time welding upside down.

Because I only use 3 of the mounts for the steering box I cut the parts off sticking above the frame.

Now it's back to playing with the suspension and steering.

I’m sure it will hold up good 😎 I’ve never seen a walk though of this so I’m keeping close watch on it.

Nashville TJ is the only other person I know of that has installed this kit.

Looks like you’re making good progress brother, remind me why I would want to do this mod, asking for a friend.

It allows you to move the axle forward up to 3" which then allows you more room for steering & suspension linkage. Plus it rotates the steering box up and out of the way.

i have been looking at the options for stretching the WB, also now I see how the twisted pitman comes into play

For me it was also about getting clearance for the fodees at the rear of the wheel well at full stuff / full turn.

But installing the kit - at least for me - was the easy part. Getting the track bar, pitman arm, drag link, tie rod, and hydro-assist to play nicely together as I pushed the axle forward was a huge challenge.

Was the frame’s squareness checked before and after welding? Seems that without the factory crossmember, things would move, no?

I measured the width prior to cutting the old crossmember out plus I'd tacked some square stock across the frame rails to help keep it square.
@NashvilleTJ (Jeff) suggested that I use something to hold the frame rails in place. And it seemed to work well also.

Happened to me with my driveshafts. Luckily they were only one day off.

There are TIME I really dislike FedEx & UPS. Why they say something is going to be delivered on a certain day only to update it later that day to "We don't have a FUCKING CLUE when it'll arrive"

And now this....

And the boxes sat in MS for 4 days??

I literally expect to not receive an item with FedEx that lands in Troutdale Oregon when on its way to me.

Stuff of mine lands there and sits for 5-7 days.

Work on the Jeep is looking good up in here though Sir!

My springs finally started moving out of Oregon today, its been there since Sunday. They've had a terrible ice storm recently.

Yes I know the weather has been SHIT all over the country but I'm a firm believer in doing what you say and saying what you do. If they'd posted a new date earlier (yesterday or the day before) I wouldn't be bitching about it. This is about the 3-4 item recently that they've done this shit with.
