PSC reservoir install guidance

My drivers fender is kind of busy. Compressor, windshield reservoir, cruise control servo, and Evap canister purge valve.. At least my 05 doesn't have the charcoal canister on the fender like the 97-02. I knew it was going to be a challenge with locating it but wanted to wait until it arrived before making a decision. The easy way would be to mount the PSC reservoir beside the master cylinder using the provided bracket but I've seen pictures and have read forum pages that it should be mounted as close to the pump and if possible, on the fender.

I don't want to lose windshield fluid and cruise control is often used. Initial thought was to relocate the cruise control servo to beside the master cylinder and put the PSC reservoir in it's place. However, this may only gain a 6" shorter feed line than if using the PSC master cylinder mount. Is it worth the effort? The other though was a smaller windshield fluid bottle but can anyone suggest a replacement?

@mrblaine installed it for me, but here's how he did it:

From what I can tell he just bolted it on from the underside using the threaded holes that are already there.

This keeps the feed line as short as possible and uses gravity to make sure the pump isn't starving.

I don't think it was that simple. The reservoir PSC sent you would have been too tall for that location. From what I gather they made a shorter reservoir a few years back but stopped making them. Blaine likely has the shorter reservoirs in stock or had that one cut down.

Hard to imagine there is one taller than that, but I believe it!

Mine definitely didn't have much room before it contacted the hood.

The holes are not deep. Depending on the thickness of the metal you are mounting through, I believe 1/2" long works for there in 5/16-18.

I have large fender washers for 5/16 that I use on the thin metal. Like 1.5" in diameter and 1/8" thick.

I didn't fight it--I just used the bracket that came with the reservoir. It attaches to the studs on the vacuum booster. I didn't have to move anything.

When I called and spoke to Kelvin two weeks ago, I mentioned that I wanted the shorter reservoir and he said "no problem". I'll measure it later and see if in fact, the short reservoir was shipped and if PSC is still making them.

The problem with doing it that way is it works most of the time. Closer works all of the time.
