got home today and got to hole cuttin. holy shit i've cut away a 3rd of what i bought.
i couldn't resist pushin a lamp in there to see how it looked. i'm not hatin it. glad i moved it in an inch too.

managed to get all the new holes in the rocker and the tub, had to use 3 nutserts on each side. but it hangs with no clamps now, still got some trimming to do too.
when i did the nutserts, i paint the raw cut hole and then since i have the panel sealer. i'm putting just a bit of that around the nutsert so when it collapses tight it's all sealed as well.
the notch on the flare for the old rocker pretty much fits this 1 too.
found a guy on FB that does roll cages out by where i work. i contacted him and he'll make the bends i need for the A pillars, i just gotta supply the materials and good #'s for the pieces.

i have some 1/2" nutserts for the bottom but have 2nd thoughts about um, they are just huge. so i ordered up some 5/16, they should be here by next wkend.
then i proceeded to drill into the dash to drop some tube to mock up the A pillar. the vent tubes make it real tight in the corner, so i removed a portion of it to get a clean drop through. once it's all fit i'll replace the hard plastic tube with some cheap flexible shop vac tube and patch it back together.

another day with nothing to do, so my drill table got a drawer for bits. and in addition to that roller prop shown above i made up a flat top i can clamp to, and an angle to hold round stock and tube.
that didn't take long enough, so i added another removable slide on mount tube, so it can hold/support from both sides of the press table. i'm gonna tack on a few pieces to hold all my parts and it's better than it should have been. more pics when i get it home.

got the stand home and mounted my small press to it, it'll work good, fits right onto my small dolly to move around easy.
and i needed a 2 welder cart, so i made that up about a wk ago. the old 1 gave me fits with just 1, but that's my fault for using cheap weak casters, it's a roll around tool tray now.
i still gotta weld the hangers to hold all the cords and nozzle they are just clamped on ATM.

the nutserts got here fri, so i got the whole rocker lined up, drilled countersunk and bolted on, but still have to do some trimming. gonna see what it might cost to powder coat these.
then i tried a fitting of the fuel cell and made up some straps to secure it. and had to try my cover.
and i got an appt after work mon. to get those A posts bent for the cage.

since the install of the rear corner armor, and because of how well it looks on toximus' rig, and aluminum is just sexy, right?
i decided to order up some additional 3/16" aluminum panels to make a front fender stiffener/armor plates. i'm not gonna try and get real elaborate so i will not carry it up to the windshield hinge. since the fender is altered and it's barely a skin anymore a stiffener is functional to me. i'm gonna try and carry the line off the rear armor forward or parallel to it. i'll keep my vents but the covers will be remade in 1/16" aluminum and riveted on.
should be here next wk sometime.

I plan to do the same one day. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Where the cowl rolls inward at the top makes it interesting.
i need a punch list. or a punch me list i did this to myself.
i'm gettin overwhelmed and i'm beginning to loose focus bouncing from task to task like a lunatic.
and i'm sure this is not gonna be a complete 1st draft.
front end needs the frame TB bracket reworked, or beefed up............................. i have anything i need to fab this.
the ARB compressor needs wired at the switch..........DONE
the harness for the rear locker needs pushed in and tied at the switch. the wire from the diff is in the cab........DONE
the rear brakes need piped.....i ordered the flex line, adapter fitting and T today,.........all piped and secured to the axle, just need bled.
the fuel line is run, needs tied in at the rail and the cell...........tied in at the rail
finish the fuel cell tie downs. ...........gonna work on this tonight..............................DONE.
the rockers need finished......a little weld, a trim and some paint.
rear corner armor needs couple more holes drilled, the bottom corners at the gate run into my torque box ends plates.........DONE
the bumper needs installed.......weld brackets on the frame and drill it.............DONE
install a windshield.......glass only, i got a new frame.
finish the cage............ or enough of it to work for now.............. i got my A pillars bent. just needs welded now.

order a rear driveshaft......gonna move the axle through a cycle and measure a few spots to be sure of the length of motion required.
exhaust work, muffler > back.
install the struts........... bolt in and charge um up.
put 3 bead locks back together w/smaller anti cone rings. .......................2 down ..........1 to go.
connect the front the locker switch..
the list will grow as i recall more. but hopefully i can focus and work them off the list.
i have a few questions as well.
like what would it hurt to just weld that rear bumper to my frame ends?
should i tie the long rocker to the body armor to keep the extended edges inline vertically? (i'll post pic of this later)

i got into the cage some today, it's a big hurdle right now. got the A pillars fit.
then i took the lower windshield bar that bends out (and didn't fit my configuration) and refit it this way.
