Hey all, pretty sure this is a super creative bunch! Was wondering what interesting shift knobs y'all put on your TJs? I'm thinking of swapping my stock one out, looking for ideas. Thinking about the classic 8-ball! And how hard is it to make your own shift knob?

Cool idea! Do you have a source for the insert?
Not offhand - I just searched here for the shift knob diameter & thread pitch, there are a few threads. Then I ordered
But he hasn't yet...huh?

That process is a huge pain in the ass.
He's a rock nerd, he did one for me so far but I didn't like the shape. He has a shop full of tumblers, polishers, some shit that washes water over rocks with little bit of sediment for some reason.

If you bring up geodes around this dude you might as well just have a seat. You're in for a lot of education.

🙄 lol

Are you serious on the felony thing?
I was pretty sure, but I looked up penal code and it seems as though while dummy grenades made out of metal in California are illegal, they are only able to be tried as an infraction for the first offense.

it also also possible from the penal code to be exempted if the grenade is filled with a “permanent inert” substance I’m guessing like epoxy or concrete. Whatever the DA desires that day I’m sure. Personally I wouldn’t risk it.

I bought this very cool rock shifter knob years ago at the ARCA rock crawling championships (pre-King of the Hammers)... it even has a Jeep outline etched onto it. I no longer use it since getting rid of the manual transmission but it's too cool to toss lol.

I just figured out what to do with this, I'll donate it to @Chris's next appropriate contest and send it to the winner who is verified to have an AX-5, AX-15, or NV3550 transmission. That's to avoid him/her just placing it on eBay and making $$$ on it lol.
