It really sucks trying to lift a cage on your own! Pulling the stock one out was one thing... pulling a cage with at least 2x as much material and way more awkward weight distribution is brutal. Looks like you've got it under control though!
just made it back home.

i don't trust it as is, so i'm gonna run a leg up the outside . it's not gonna rip the fence out or snap the anchors but all that has movement and stretch that's hard to judge and making things a little unstable.

finding a dead center is unlikely, but as long as it can keep it light enough on either end to teeter from the lift point, it'll do.

i was up on it, standin on it, it's a sturdy cage.

cage is planted back inside the jeep.
gonna fire the grill tonight............, a man needs grilled meat.

i shot that nasty orange windshield frame as well as the cowl i had flat blacked out with my OE color match cans. they came out acceptable.
tomrw i need to fit that window frame and be sure those cage ties are still inline then anchor the A bars.

i avoided placing the gussets because i needed to pull the legs to get in and out. and the welding stretched it a tiny bit so once its all locked down tight then i'll place my gussets. and that'll be it's forever form. i can reach all them with the welder and paint inside.

pics tomrw.

radiator got here last wk, but that's gonna wait till i have time to make that mess. might pull the A/C compressor at that time too. not sure yet.

sorry i never got back with those pics, i'll try later today.

things ain't goin so good ............again.
things never really got any better since last yr, and it's been an everyday battle for 3 wks straight now.
there were periods of some sorta stability but few and not long lasting.
i really need to get out.

i had to finish up the cage in haste. i got the gussets on and it's being sprayed, but i didn't put enough effort into sanding and have some runs here and there..............i'll work that crap out later it's protected from rust for now
i had to weld outside in the bright sunlight and wind and dorked an overhead weld on 1 gusset, it's got a bite just a fugly weld that ran low in a couple spots and will be dug out this winter and fixed

i started putting the dash back together......should be done today.
then the fuel tank can go in soon.

kinda been avoiding the rockers cause the front fender lies behind um. i need to move quick and see what i can whip up during lunch breaks next wk.

this is as good as it gets ATM.
i'll be making those bolt in door bars in the future.

low side gussets on both sides of the windshield risers.
both sides of the B bar at the header.
the bottom of the B bar to the horizontal run to A.
the high side of the harness bar.
i added 2 bigger panels off the B bar on the horizontal to C, 1 of which will likely hold the fuel filler neck, but my OCD does not allow just 1 it's gotta be symmetric.

and i put an "old man help my ass up into the back end handle" on there as well.

That cage turned out sick! Nicely done. Any plans to enclose the fuel cell in the future?
ya, i got an aluminum box cover. i gotta sort the filler neck and hose (buy um) and i can finish the plumbing.

later sometime i'd like to make a couple side compartments for small gear as long as i can leave the cover removable from it all for service needs.

That's clean! I like the idea fore some side compartments as well. A great place for spare fluids

Summits got my windshield glass in stock, so i need to get down there b4 this wkend.
they also have an acceptable filler neck cap assy.

since the tank is so small i don't wanna risk flooding the dam thing full to the cap so i'm gonna go for a clear filler tube this way i can see any backup or know when it totally full. clear tube comes direct from the mfg'r so it might be a wk or so b4 i see it.

the seats have been out long enough they got crap stacked all over them , so i dug out the pass. side and went at it with the upholstery wand on the carpet cleaner. i'll dig the other out tomrw.

i got my TB reinforcement done just need to weld it all up.

WOW you've made some nice progress on your rig. That cage looks really great and turned out better than Poison Spyder figured it should. Your added tweaks just makes it look RIGHT. I'll keep looking to see if I can score a deal like you did. If not I guess I'll just end up having a shop make me a full cage.

The additional pieces made it a longer endeavor than it had to be especially the A bar.
while it's not as triangulated as it should be I feel it's better than it was out of the box.
