Battery Tray Rot

Ok guys and gals so I am new to the DIY jeep fixes so bear with me. I have a 2000 TJ and the battery tray is junk. The 2 holes on one side that hold the front most J hooks in place have rotted through. I know, I know, simple enough, replace the tray. Here is the issue. When I look at the tray from under the jeep not only is the tray rotted but so is the base the tray sits on. My fear is I remove the tray and all 4 bolts holding it on (that has been a challenge) take out the tray and am unable to put a new tray on because there is nothing but rot to secure it to. Any suggestions at all? Thank you

Unfortunately you’re not going to know for sure until you remove the tray. I wouldn’t wait too long though, a loose battery is never good (or safe). Take it all out, clean it up and see what you’re working with.

I have the same issue, Does anyone know where I can get replacement metal retaining clips that the bolts attach to? There are 0 junk yards near me that have TJ in stock, and if they do, they just break down the good stuff and crush the rest.
Also my battery sensor is MIA, no where to be found for my 2006.

I recently purchased sku: a629 from belmetric (machine thread speed clip u style) which were an exact match to oem.
