Bartact seat covers

I've been wanting to buy some seat covers for awhile now. Since I bought my TJ brand new in 2005, my factory seats have seen a lot of everyday abuse. And buying NEW seats would be pretty expensive.

@Chris had a good review on seat covers that he recommends. And I researched his choices quite a bit. I just kept coming back to the Bartact.

I LOVE the fact that's it's an American Company selling their American made items. And they are a pleasure to talk to on the phone.

You can get a variety of different colors, but I wanted black. Unfortunately, they were out of stock, and they had a 5 week wait period.

Now, I'm not a patient man, and my wife would agree. When I buy something, I want it NOW. And I saw where other online sites had the seat covers in stock. But, I wanted to support an American Company, so I ordered from them.

To my surprise, I received a shipping notification almost 2.5 weeks later.
This made me very happy!

I received the seat covers today, and these would have been worth waiting for 5 weeks. They fit very nice, and very tight. They made my worn factory seats comfortable again. And the cab looks almost brand new once again.

I also ordered the lumbar support bladder. It's cheap, and I wasn't expecting much out of them. But my wife was happy with how they worked. So that's good.

I also really liked the storage bags that came with them. A small bag for each front seat, with a larger bag for the rear. I fastened the rear bag to the passenger seat instead. And I plan on buying another one for the driver side.

I have them as well and am totally pleased with them. They are not neoprene and you do not stick to them. I doubt I'll ever have to buy another seat cover.

I'm very pleased with these. And from here on out, these are the seat covers I recommend. The quality is exceptional, and I can't wait to put some abuse towards them.

I haven't had to test their waterproof claim but only the stitching is said to not be waterproof. Water can wick thru the stitching but they told me I could use seam sealer on the backside to help lessen that.

Last night it rained for quite a while and this morning when I took my rain cover off I forgot about the puddle that formed and it all fell down right on the driver seat. I brushed the puddle that formed in my seat right off and put down a towel to sit on while I went on a donut run. When I get to the shop < 10 minutes later, I take off the towel and my seat is bone dry. As much as @Chris swears by his Duratracs, I'll stand by my Bartact seat covers.

BFG KO2's > Duratracs :)

Just ordered a set. 4WD is running a 10% off sale w no tax or shipping fee. Couldn't pass it up. Wanted to get new seats but my stock one's both tumble and fold forward. Losing that to aftermarket seats wasn't something I wanted to do. And these are great covers, no doubt.

Here's the final look. They fit great. Easy to install as well and actually improved the comfort of the seat. So odd, but true.

So I'm really starting to look at these. My interior is tan with the green Sahara seats.

Not my Jeep, but you get the idea.

I think I like the black covers with the coyote insert color combination, rather than a solid black, and I'm not interested in solid coyote. Any thoughts on that?

Here is a picture of my Jeep for reference.

I'm also going to call them today because although their site only shows the black/coyote insert, Morris 4x4 has a black/khaki insert (two different part numbers)

Oh boom. How about that! Is that the khaki or the coyote insert?

I'm wondering what the reverse combination would look like, khaki/coyote with black insert.

I have been trying to find out if these are waterproof. I run topdown a lot. If they get wet, can you just wipe them off like vinyl, or does the water soak in.
Tom
Yes and no. Weird answer right? Let me explain:

Its not a vinyl or neoprene, it breathes. My jeep got unbelievably down-poured on while I was at class the other day with nearly 1" of water in the floorboards. The seat covers were damp, but the seats underneath were pretty damn dry. They are a blend of fibers so you get some trade offs. The main reason I went with these is because they are incredibly fade resistant & the breathability allows them to not make your butt sweat like a dog. They don't soak them up like a sponge like the stock seats, most of the water just runs off the seats. Heavy rain will penetrate but not much. No matter what seat covers you look at you need to figure out: Do I want my seats to be completely waterproof or do I want serious butt sweat. The choice is yours, if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

OK, Thanks. My YJ had vinyl seats, and I don't remember butt sweat being a problem. How long did they take to dry after your soaking, to where you could sit on them and not get your pants wet?
