Nikki's yellow throwback Jeep

I've seen his work. If it looks better than using a chainsaw with carbide teeth I'll be impressed.
You’d be surprised what I can do with a chainsaw with carbide teeth 😂
Well you got 2 steps further than I did with those vents. How are you cutting the holes, just making 16 hole saw holes?
yeah and I’ll trim away the rest with a jigsaw, more or less the way @jjvw did on page 6 (I think) of his thread.

Well here are the vents installed. I didn’t complete the venting holes because the hole saw was making quite a racket and my neighbors can only tolerate so much before they report me to the HOA. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’ll finish making them functional another day at a different location. Also I’ll get some better pics but overall the look of them is extremely underwhelming, just as I hoped.

So, how did you decide where to put them? Just where you thought they should go, aesthetically? I have a set of these (have had them for over a year) and get analysis paralysis every time I think about where they should go. I think about where the heat is coming from and then about dead airflow zones, positive pressure, negative pressure, etc. Then I get all sweaty and remember they aren't hurting anything sitting in a cardboard box on my "jeep parts to be installed" shelf. I immediately forget about them for a while, until I unearth them from the shelf or someone comes along and does a nice job installing them.

These were on my shelf for 2 years for the same reason. Finally came to the conclusion I would never need them being in NY and along came @Nickgsjeep and here we are.

I feel this question requires more of a response from me. Deciding to install these was no easy task for me. Getting sweaty and anxious about where to put them is definitely something I could relate too. After years of consideration and some, albeit minor, discussions about preserving the life of under hood components that are getting harder and harder to come by, I finally decided to purchase some with the thought that I could resell them if/when I chicken out. I read and read up on the topic, mostly just anecdotal opinions, but the concept of lowering under hoods temps even by a few degrees might create a better environment under the hood for all the plastic and rubber seemed pretty reasonable. So fast forward to the day I decided to actually install them it took me the better portion of the day, about 5 hours, of looking, pondering, texting, moving the vents, taping, measuring, texting more, then finally drilling the first hole.

so to say that article and pure aesthetics is how I decided is an understatement.

Who was the recipient of all the panicky texts? I have a feeling I know, but I'd like confirmation...
