Congratulations!
I’m ready for my 16 year old to leave. But it was pointed out….they become selfish jerks so you don’t miss them as much as when they were younger.
I know that doesn’t hold true and many teens are great. My next two better be because I can’t do much more stress with them like the oldest.
We plan to travel and visit them a lot no matter where they end up. We enjoy each other’s company very much and I think we get to go back to that pre-kids. Hopefully. Or I just spend more time in the shop or on my bike.

My youngest is 4 years away from college. Not too long ago, my wife and I were at dinner (just us), and I asked her what we would talk about when we were empty nesters. She said she had no idea if it was not about our daughters. First thing that went through my mind is when would be a good time to bring up a postnuptial agreement.

Mine is a senior in high school this year, I can relate to what some have said here. I am glad to see her growing up into the person she is and will become but, I am not sure what I will do with myself when she leaves.

We only have 1 daughter and when we dropped her off at the Naval Academy in 2006 it took me a Harley Davidson and a Jeep to recover. She’s still in the Navy and I still have my HD and the Jeep, actually bought a Cherokee too lol.
Keep replacing the sadness with possessions!!.. that’s what I’m gunna do!
I am glad I was not a breeder, I would have been even more broke than I have been…down to 4 jeeps from 6, and looking at getting rid of 2 more…because I will never see retirement at the rate I am going.
I joke about it but seriously it took about 4 years for me to get over my little bird being out of the nest. When she graduated the Naval Academy and I realized she was a successful adult. I still miss her and we talk almost every day. She says her parents are going thru their second childhood. It’s funny when your kid texts and asks if you’re home safe. Lol
