Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

What did you do to your TJ today?

I'm not exactly how I feel about the green but I am interested in seeing the finished project
It isn't your Jeep, I don't give a fuck how you feel about the color. I'm not doing it to please anyone but myself, but rest assured, that bullshit right there is how you get me to quit posting pics of my personal shit.

If you were actually paying attention, you would have noticed the the knee bolster has the early headlight switch hole. The ashtray is the same generation but, the steering wheel is the later 4 spoke model.

Wasn't trying to offend in any way, I'm in awe of the work you do and I am really interested in seeing the finished product
Oh, and I did notice it was an early dash and a late wheel, just not sure where it'll end up

I noticed. The knee bolster.. I picked up one from a '98 a little while back, I had the idea of using a factory headlight switch from that year except wiring it for some landing "rock" lights.

I'm taking from this that your putting a later model stearing wheel on a earlier model? If so, this is news I've been looking for.

What paint are you using on plastic and vinyl?
I have a system I've developed after having everything else fail. Also part of the problem is identifying what plastic you are dealing with.
The following items are already painted so they just need a solid cleaning, scuff, prep, and paint with most any paint.
Ash tray
Early knee bolster
Early air bag cover
Center bezel
Cigar lighter panel
Instrument cluster bezel

Hard to paint plastics are as follows-
Dash
Door panels
Center console
Speaker grills
Glove box door

For those I do a SEM scuff and clean with a red Scotchbrite hand pads until water sheets off with no beading whatsoever. Then I one way wipe with lint free rags with SEM Solve. After that I do a Polyvance filler prep covering over the whole thing and then two medium coats of SEM Flexible surface primer. I scuff that with the red to knock off the dirt and imperfections. Then I shoot two cost of Crosslink in the color of choice. That is topped with 2 coats of Spraymax 2K clear in matte or satin.

What color will the jeep be?
The interior and the grill are practically the same color. The interior shot is closest to what it will look like.
The rims and bumpers I posted above are a darker green which will be on the rock rails, tire carrier, bumpers.
The lighter green of the grill will be the rest of it and all the body color will be the same including the rock rail backers.

Yes, 05 in a 97 on the 97 column. We checked the fit and you can bolt up a later multi-function switch to the early column. Not that we will but you can. I have not bolted it all up fully with the painted clamshells so there may be a gotcha I'm missing. Be aware that the cruise control buttons are not the same resistance. Or so I am told. I've got a guy who is supposed to swap out the resistors to fix mine. We'll see if that works.

Thanks for doing all the leg work. You make it easier for the rest of us.

I got in the habit of doing the thumbnail test. You can mow the paint right off of anything else I've tried. I tested an area last night with the edge of a penny. It left marks in the paint surface or scuffs but the paint did not release from the substrate.

If you get among the brush and trees no one will be able to find you.

Looks great. Ahh and I remember the battery area now too, very cool!

Well I'd be very interested in what the result is. I have a 2000 and would like to swap in a later four spoke but I've always been told that the clockspring may be the issue. Not something I've really looked into any farther because I'm very unfamiliar when I comes to those type of vehicle workanisms.

What's the panel for in the first picture? Also, it looks like you've reinforced in the wheel well. Is this related to the panel, and because of the lengthened body?
