all-top 12v air compressor for 35s

I tested my old lighter-plug compressor filling a 35x12.5r15 from 6 psi to 26psi. It took 17 min (*engine off before fuse blew, engine on after), not counting the time to replace the fuse in the jeep 2/3 of the way through. I considered a small viair or smitibuilt but found good reviews for the alltop unit and decided to go with that.

It looks pretty well built and passes the same test in 2.5 min. (*engine off). I can live with that.

The air fittings are metric and the gauge is crap. I'll post back later with how it holds up.

I have this one and have been happy with it. The specs and looks are similar to the one posted above as well as the Smittybilt. I did replace the coiled hose with a 1/4" straight hose. The heat caused the coiled hose to fail twice and ditched it. The coiled hose pissed me off anyway. Stretching the coil hose you can't put it down. If you do the hose springs back to the compressor if you don't step on it. I have never timed it until now and was surprised how fast it is. It takes 3 minutes and 5-15 seconds per 35x12.5x15 tire to go from 9psi to 26psi.

I also use a small slot screw driver to raise the idle speed to about 100-1200. Doing that raises voltage from 12.6v at idle to 13.6v with the raised idle speed.

I should add that times were with the engine off. Better to run the engine to reduce amp draw.

That one does look about the same. China does that a lot.

There was a twin posted recently that is supposed to do pretty well, better than than the ARB according to those that have seen it personally. There's a million different versions of that overseas crap but I think it's the one with the chrome air filter covers on the top of the cylinders. The twins are pretty cheap now, I'd look that direction. About the same size and easy twice the CFM at low pressure.

I've used this on 2 trips now. Aired down at the beach to 6psi, took 2.5 min/tire. 10psi forest roads (was questioning weather it'd be worth it, but it rode SO MUCH BETTER), took just over 1 min/tire.

Those times seem pretty good for 35s. I thought about rigging up a multi-tire hose system but there isn't much point. I just use the stopwatch on my phone and it's quite repeatable. The sound isn't terrible either.
