What did you do to your TJ today?

I got super lucky today and scored a set of half doors for $200. It was a bit of a drive but a beautiful one and I got to spend some time catching up with a good friend. Came with upper frames and mirrors. The upper windows are trash and mirrors need painted or replaced but the doors and interior panels are in good shape. I’ll repaint them To match this winter. And I can sell the set I already have since the interior panels didn’t match my Jeeps interior anyway. This is the picture the seller posted on FB marketplace. I’ll get good pictures tomorrow in the daylight after I get them washed.

Borrowed a lift at my buddies shop to finish up the rear shocks. The RS5000x have a weird plastic boot attached to them. Figured I’d leave it for now.
Passenger rear is pretty close to the exhaust pipe but not touching , anyone have any exhaust reroute ideas? Not much room back there.

Genright fenders installed to replace the rotted factory fenders.

The instructions for these suck, if you go with them and get the inner fender kit they tell you to install the outer first then the inner, I found this to be impossible and had to remove the fender and reinstall.

Otherwise pretty happy with the look.

Having quite the struggle getting the 3/4 led to work correctly even after reading all the threads on front leds.

Oh yeah, while had it up on jackstands in garage decided to pull the rear upper shock bolts to never-seize them. 90k miles and all original. Came out without breaking any. So thankful this lifelong OHIO Jeep was very rarely driven in winter! Should be good now when time comes to lift it.

decided to pull the top up early this year, usually push it into November but we hit 80 today & I wanted it nice & pliable, temps supposed to drop tomorrow & for the foreseeable future. I'll still leave the windows out & half doors on for a while though, on any given day I may be able to take a ride & be comfortable even into December if I'm lucky...

Took a nice ride through the countryside then on my way back popped in to see my son & thought she (the TJ ) looked particularly nice:

as I pulled back into my driveway she turned 133,000

I bought her 5 years ago with 119,000 & I'm proud to announce that the check engine light has shone brightly for every inch of my 14,000 miles, all hail Chrysler!

That beauty looks a lot like mine.

Swapped back to the hard top.

After watching the video on how to actually install the top from Jeep, I realized the jumper was still attached to the hardtop. According to the video, it is supposed to be removed after the top is removed the first time. It helped bridge the wires over the soft top when the Jeep shipped with the dual top option.

Wish my TJ still had that! What a PITA to get the plug apart, mine slipped/was pulled? into the hard top a bit too far and I couldnt get a grip on it and had to break the plug to disconnect it.
