Nikki's yellow throwback Jeep

IDK, sorry if i misspoke. this was the quote.

Transfer case has the terra flex 2 low kit in it so you now have 2hi 4hi neutral 2low 4low.

is it worth 1700$?
Blaine commented before that with Atlas 2 speeds going for 3K plus 1700 doesn’t sound too far off.

Less than 2 years ago, add 500 to that and you could get an Atlas. Now that is half of an Atlas thereabouts. But, 5 years ago the going rate was sub 1000 for low mileage cases and now they are all 1700 and higher for high mileage cases. I won't install one without a spare laying around so take that for what it's worth.

they routinely go for 12. the 2 low plate was to my recollection expensive enough that i didnt buy it even though I had the whole thing apart already. Then again I had to replace about half the parts in mine so i was already in over my head.

looking at it in the reverse... could someone give me 1700 bucks for mine? not a chance....

Atlas is $2800 the way I just set it up. And I didn't get any special stuff either like cable shifter.

I think a 241 for $1700 is over priced but it seems to be what the market will bear so it's what they are going for.

The 2LO option is nice for a few things but IMO not that big of a deal where with the Atlas you get the ability for front or rear only drive. So front digs are now possible.

Well it is finally time for my review of the 241 transfer case. How can I express the magnitude of difference between the 231 and 241 transfer cases in a thread post so that one who has not experienced a rig with a 4:1 ratio would really appreciate and understand what I am saying? I can’t. The old saying that is so prevalent on here comes to mind, “you don’t know what you don’t know”. When I first realized I needed a change in the way my jeep performed off road, I simply thought the 241 or an atlas would just make the jeep slower when in 4Lo, and it does make the jeep slower. A lot slower. But the real difference is in the torque. I no longer need to feather clutch, work the brake, or give gas in order for the jeep to tackle an obstacle. The 241 allows the jeep to simply crawl over obstacles at a controlled rate with out stalling and very little if any gas is ever needed. Also the dangerous and unexpected automatic gas of the engine the newer Jeeps do when the engine is about to stall is now a subtle well placed increase in throttle that doesn’t catch you off guard or send you jumping down a descending obstacle. Overall I am extremely pleased with the 241 transfer case and have zero regrets about switching. There are plenty of people who wheel manuals with a 231 just fine, I considered myself one of them. But I felt like the speed of the rig and foot play involved would only get more dangerous the more technical my wheeling got. The 241 is a real game changer. Thanks @mrblaine .

Today I got to put the transfer case through its paces with @LarryTJ and @Nucklenelson out on Bronco Peak at Corral Canyon OHV park. Thanks for coming out guys, really fun day.

congrats on the upgrade. It’s night and day difference. Glad you did it. Will make heart attack hill a cake walk now.

I routinely see them advertised for 18-2200.

What size lift and tires did it have in that photo?

One of the best looking TJ’s i’ve seen!
3 inch savvy/currie coils, 1 inch body lift, 33 inch goodyear duratracs. Thanks!
