Drip under bell housing on 2005 Rubicon with auto transmission. Possible sources other than rear main seal????

Can a rear main seal be damaged while removing or replacing a transmission on a 2005 Rubicon 4.0.

Code PO 344 received the other day via check engine light. Any help would be appreciated.

Recommended motor oil for a 2005 Rubicon with 126,000 miles and which of these two as well, 5W30 or 10W40. Also Synthetic or Conventional, just want to get it straight for future oil changes. Thanks in advance
