What did you do to your TJ today?

I may have to get me one of those  ..I hear they come in handy :p

They come in handy but are expensive. You still have to make payments on them long after they're gone. 🤫

Installed the hood louver that the powder coater worked on for me since it arrived scratched…took me all night to install bc I work slow, especially in the dark.

The IATs have dropped by about 30* and that’s a big deal for me. Before, I was at 220* at 2.5 psi of boost. Now, I’m more around 190*.

Also had the Banks intercooler charge pipes blasted and powered coated after having the IAT bung welded in. Looks much better than Bank’s bluish gray PC imo. Hope to install the intercooler later this summer.

Drove an hour round trip for these cookies.

Disassembled all my new JJs and greased with CV2

Watched the how to video Currie has uploaded on youtube. Banged out all 14 of the joints, then stepped back and looked at them.

Seems obvious after the fact. I hadn't considered they may be asymmetrical since there was no mention in the video. So, of the 14, 8 of them came back apart to get flipped.

A new JJ rod end for the track bar is tempting. $142

As expected, this doesn't work. I thought it would be closer than this, though. At full bump the engine skid arm runs directly through the control arm. I'm thinking about modifying the arm by welding a gusseted flat to the end to bolt into the lower motor mount. Thoughts?

Could you flip it and shave down the straight edge so it clears the CA?

Naw, it passes almost directly through. Flipping and/or grinding won't be enough. Need an alternate method of mounting. I'll probably just take the engine skid off for now and get to work on the rear of the Jeep. I'll get to the skid eventually.

Here's a pic looking up from the corner of the skid to the mount behind the arm.

I’ll have to figure this out on the passenger side. The skid is in a different state, so I’ll also have this to worry about later.

I was wondering if we might be able to run some short angle iron more outboard and then a piece down to the lower mount. I don’t know if that would work but it’s the only thing I’ve come up with in my head.

We drove about 7 hours to Raleigh NC. Second leg of the trip going down when we check out of the hotel after breakfast. Pretty uneventful drive. I checked the hub on the trailer and the passenger side was getting warm to the touch so I stopped and bought a mini grease gun to make sure it was filled up. Pumped it full of grease then ended up breaking the zerk off trying to get the damn gun to release the fitting🤦🏼‍♂️ I guess I’ll be sourcing a new hub while on vacation or at least pulling it apart to make sure it’s not totally fucked before driving home
