New Wizard / BMB tail lights?

Sweet!

So I can DIY the wiring and I want black. Is that what the default kit will be?

How do I add the license plate light?

Are these mounted with through bolt and a nut on the backside in the tub or is there supposed to be threaded nutserts in the tub? PO 'fubar'd' mine and there are just mangled holes in the tub. Can I through-bolt them?

@mrblaine can answer the hard questions on ordering and tech. ;)

For one,I’ve had a couple people just about run into the back of me,the stock single 1157 bulb is just not that bright.

I replaced my 1157 bulbs with 2357 bulbs, which are claimed to be about 25% brighter.

Although a very inexpensive upgrade, and they are brighter, I really like Blaine's tail lights and will order some when I get back to the states after the first of the year.

You've done a great job there sir!

I have them sitting in the cart ready to go.. I can figure out the mounting part, but I want to add the license plate light. HMMM... need to add the license plate relocation bracket too.

They mount the same as the stock ones. That's a far as my knowledge goes.

Blaine said the plate light and plate relocation bracket will be available later.

As for ordering the lights between black/silver, DIY/PNP, and extra hardware for the 4 holes, and wiring hardware for 1997s, I imagine all of that probably needs to be updated on the website still.

LOL... that doesn't help.

I had these cheap chinesium LED tails that were installed but the PO. A real hack job complete with wire nuts.
Pretty sure all I have are mangled holes with no threads or nutserts. Gotta reach up and behind to put the nuts on.

You installed them...

Do you have threaded inserts in the sheet metal or did you thru-bolt with a nut on the inside?

I'll figure that part out. Just need to know how to add the LED and relocation bracket.

So you're telling me I'm being impatient..
Coffee has kicked in hard.

I am stepping away from the keyboard.

For silver, just put a note in the comments to swap the black housings for silver. There is no other option except DIY just yet. I don't have time to get any of them wired up for about a week or so.
Thanks. I’m fine with wiring them. Got any pics of the mounting? I’ll need to thru-bolt them.

ETA on the bracket and plate light? Should I wait to order it all together?

Not really default, just the option we were able to get up for the short term.

You don't until we get some. They were promised at the beginning of last week, they are still not here. They are holding hands with the license plate relocators so we don't have those either.

Neither, the OEM mounting method is 3 extruded holes in the sheetmetal that they use Type F thread cutting screws to make the threads when the lights are installed.

Yes, you have 2 options, if the original holes are there but ruined, I can include 12-24 Keps nuts so you can use the supplied screws and through bolt. If the original holes are cut out like would happen if someone hole sawed for grommet mount round, then the housings have holes in each corner you can use. They will then use a low profile 6mm screw with Keps nuts to mount either through bolted in the sheet metal or drill and tapped corner armor. I am short a few pieces for that hardware kit but they are in transit.

This is the bottom two.

No ETA since it is clear they are less than accurate about the promised date so anything else is a guess.
Either way, they won't be a package and will be just separate product listings. If you plan to move the OEM plastic license plate holder, then you won't be able to without relocating it. Our relocator makes it easy but certainly not the only way to do it.

Normally, folks make a few blurred comments when they haven't had enough coffee yet. I don't think the best way to overcome that is with an IV direct from the bottom of a gallon jug of extra strong java. Just take a breath and slow down a bit so I can try and catch up.

I have many ways of solving your mounting issues. The only thing I am short on is some parts that have been shipped but if you have the 3 holes and just need nuts for my mounting screws, I have several hundred of them.

One of these days someone with brains will create shopping cart software with options that are not stupid. We should be able to pick an option that says shipping is included instead of ships free. Nothing ships for free, we pay for it, it is just easier to include it in the price.

“Ships free” sounds more enticing to the consumer.

Like how “$12.99 and free shipping” gets more sales than “$10 and $2.99 shipping” on Amazon.

I know why they do it. I just want a way to be a tad bit more accurate that doesn't change the actual price.

The caffeine has worn off.

I am 99% sure I have just a hogged out holes with no threads. Keps nuts would be one solution but I am sure I have enough hardware in inventory. I'll sit tight until the relocation bracket and LED are available.

I should ask this now…. I have the Bestop Highrock 4x4 Oversized Tire Carrier.. Looks like there is ample room to mount the lights but…. Thoughts? Any interference from the swing-outs mounting bracket? Think the lights will clear?
