I'm still surprised someone hasn't cloned any of these parts yet - the demand really must not be there.
I assume demand is part of it. The target market for the type of build preached on this forum is very very narrow. At least from what I see online and wheeling up here in WA.
Then finding a shop that can work well with 6061t6, it must be close to impossible.
I’m glad that at least couple forum members have recently started creating their own aluminum parts.
I don’t think the 6061t6 is that impossible. I’m sure it simply is the size of the die which is what gets a little uncommon to find daily but not impossible at all.
Someone made a set of aluminum tailgate hinges here - I never was able to find the thread.

Those hinges did not magically happen by themselves btw
I’ve yet to fine anyone in my area that does that kind of work, but it could definitely be different in other parts.
@Fluxor has been making some badass aluminum parts, hope he puts those sliders into production.
@Jezza has 2 styles of very nice looking aluminum hinges. They’re on my wish list.
@sunnysideup_lj has the best tailgate skin I’ve seen in recent years. Also on my wish list.
I feel like I’m missing a couple more.
If I was feeling frisky I would cut something out on our laser and try it in our brake press. We have a decent selection of dies.
