What did you do to your TJ today?

To channel my cat- not today

The LJR got a new cooler when I did the radiator.

Going to do a couple of small things, clean up and take the wife out.

I’m just not going to get transmission fluid all over me cleaning out a near new cooler- no way its plugged.

This 740 code needs solved but the shop is getting their try at it.

I'm right there with you, did you get the harness from them yet?

Some rust has formed where the skid plate attaches to the frame. I am trying to mitigate it. I took a wire brush attachment for my drill and went to town on the bottom of the frame. There is still a bit of rust if you can see it, but the light kind of washes it out.

Should I keep scrubbing the frame, or is this good enough for me to slap some primer on it?

I drilled 4 holes in the frame (2 behind the front control arms and 2 in front of the rear control arms) to allow water to drain out of the frame. Many people here have said that they have done this to prevent water sitting on the inside of the frame which promotes rust. I got the 4 holes drilled, I get them deburred so there are no sharp edges, and I got some primer on them. I'll finish up the paint tomorrow.

Been thinking how to improve the exhaust but still be near the db level of OEM. Settled on this muffler. Longer muffler case then their cat back system- going full off set as it flows more CFM then the center inlet. I might step thorough it and add a resonator later… note this brand does not step down internally.

I had this muffler on my TJ and thought it was the right balance of sound.

FYI my father was from Ohatchee Alabama and my wife and I have property just north of Gulf Shores…
Hoping to escape this hell hole of a state in a couple years.

Spent quite a bit of time in NE Alabama and enjoy the people.

I drive my neighbors nutz as I’m always working on the Jeep with tunes cranked and a mason jar full of sweet tea. Sometimes homemade and sometimes Milo’s.

This is off of my 04. Wasn’t on that plate either as I have it out right now getting ready to fab up a mount for auxbeam switch box. It appears they redesigned it and stuck it to bottom of hood near firewall. In looking at it, it appears your part # ends AB. Yours may be successor and “updated”. Or could be difference in models?

I'm OK with that. Thanks! Would you take one more with a ruler by it?
