Typical cost for replacing front inner axle seals?

Lol!

And I'm not here to convince anyone to buy anything. I'm only trying to state my personal experience with this specific item and poke a hole in the chief complaint.

I hear ya and know where you are coming from. Store bought AR or self build?

Mostly self built. Partly built by a friend.

The only way to fly. I build all of my own.

Guys,

Just curious, what is typical cost to have Rubi front inner axle seals replaced from independent shop (not stealer)?

Thanks,

Ken
Bought an '05 Rubi off a Jeep specialty lot about 6 weeks ago. Noticed right front leak before writing check. Owner, Jason, fixed it without batting an eye. He did both left and right. Said he would have charged $400 OTD if it was brought in. I thought that was fair being 72 and knowing what 9 hours under my XJ on my back feels like. Jason's business style is matchless. He saved me 30 grand from buying a tedious JLR.

Them and the axle guides. We'll quit beating on them that use them when why not to use them becomes common knowledge enough that folks quit using them.

Why not use axle guides? I never heard of them until today but was going to buy some for $10/pair. I thought it would help to prevent getting dirt/rust on the splines when inserting them?

I plan on doing inner axle seals while I got everything apart for ujoints and ball joints. I will clean out the tubes as best I can but it still seems like the guides would be a good idea. What am I missing?

I am going to use Spicer seal #46470. If anyone has an objection to that or better suggestion please let me know!

I've seen too many of them punched through axle seals by the shaft going in.
