Right! That's what I said, at least it's just a cheap part as oppose to something more complicated. The FPR can be swapped out in 15 minutes on this thing. Now I'm just waiting to see if he managed to find one in stock locally. I suspect it'll have to be ordered.
Just in case this doesn't solve you're problem, we recently had a similar issue with a car that might help someone trouble shooting. One of my dads cars (carbureted with electric pump) would idle fine, but driving down the road it would run out of gas within a mile or two. Adjusting the regulator would change the pressure on the gauge, but not actual running/driving. In the end it was found to have a rust clogged pick up tube that was starving the system of fuel.
