What did you do to your TJ today?

ordered a new soft top since the zippers on the used one I got from a friend basically fell apart. I'm only planning on using it to cover up if it rains as I have no garage, so got a cheap one. in the meantime it's covered in a tarp in case it does actually do more than mist out today...

In worse news, sprung a pretty significant oil leak that i'm pretty sure is due to the valve cover gasket, potentially oil pan gasket (and honestly probably both). The oil pan itself had some rough rust starting on one side so buying new gaskets and waiting for a new pan to get here. But in the meantime, stuck some foil pans under it and watching it drip. Somewhat depressing as it had no oil issues before and it was a sudden bad leak a week after changing the oil.
Did you switch to synthetic oil?

I bought a receiver hitch cargo rack from HF and modified it to go over the spare tire. It's sturdy as hell...my neighbor tested it by hanging off the groundfrom it.
Now my gas can rack is too small by an inch!
It's always something :()

Getting ready to take the dogs with us for a ride to McKinstry Peak today, put the Smittybilt C.RES cargo net on for safety. I’ve had this thing for well over 10 years and it’s held up well, takes about 15 minutes to install with the safari top back over it. If you have dogs and want to go topless this will give you peace of mind and for 70 bucks it’s worth every penny.

I have this too and love it. I've had mine about ten years as well and no issues....other then I worry about people stealing junk :(

I added these flood lights. According the the reviews and manufacturer's info they are waterproof/resistant.

The originals were weak and if mounted there it looked like I ran over Mickey Mouse from the driver's seat.

Rather then run the cords along the bar, I drilled a hole and fished through to the connector. I used heat shrink on the wires and touch up paint on the metal. I'll seal the holes to help keep junk out of the inside.

Then I took a wire wheel to these to get them a step closer to painting. They covered rust spots with beadliner and it was bubbling. One set of feet are slightly bent and the tube, so it took a decent hit, but I'm sure the BFH will fix that problem.

BesTop seat covers were a bust today. Vinyl burs on the fake seams pressed into the middle section, extremely difficult to get on, even with help, (we gave up after I decided if we managed to wedge them on, I'd just want them off again in two days because I wouldn't be happy with the fit/quality), poor stitching/trim around the seat pulls and back-of-seat release, and the rear pocket wasn't as pictured. Mailing them back to amazon tomorrow.

I did like the color though, so there's that...🤣
