What did you do to your TJ today?

Pulled the front axle and brought it to a friend to rebuild. Arb locker, 4.56 yukon gears, chromoly axle shafts. It’s been a long time since I messed with a differential, so I know enough to know what I don’t know. Should get it back Monday or Tuesday.

Ahhhh i can see why you have a problem steering......you have some bits missing !!! :p

Went for a drive out to Whatipu, Waitakere ranges.... It was wet when I left my place but wetter when I reached my destination haha.
I'll come back when its drier as there are a few hikes I'd like to do out there.

Nice man, I’ve got a few days off work next week and was going to head out those ways. Take my drone for a fly around and see what else is out there
Yeah it’s worth a look … there is great lookout and caves to explore too….. I would have gone further but the path was way too flooded.

I use a trick I stole from someone else on this forum. Use a plastic grocery bag, and place it over the filter after loosening it slightly. Then, unscrew the filter through the bag and drop it right into the bag. Takes a bit of practice, but after a couple times, I can now get the mess all in the bag and none on the driveway.
Thanks. I’ll try that next time. 👍

I have no clue how I got my passenger side lower nut off, but when I installed it I couldn’t fit a socket up there or anything. I was able to get it tight enough I think but wasn’t able to torque it down properly because of everything interfering
it took a bit of fighting but I managed it. its almost like you need a custom socket to fit up there. one thats slightly angled, not too wide, not too shallow but not deep enough to interfere with the mounting bolt blocking the access to the nut. I managed to tighten it to German specifications "gudentight" but I wish I was able to get a torque wrench in there.

ive done worse motor mounts in the past, the jeeps just a tease, basically just enough room for one arm to comfortable fit in the space but if you want to get another arm up in there its a awkward position to lay in and reach at. both sides from below I wanted to stick my arm up there from where the front steering bars are blocking my hand from going in at.

Just got home from a 10 day trip with my girl. Drove her to Key West for a vacation and she was awesome as a Jeep can be on an over 2000 mile trip by the time we got home. Most of the trip was with the top either all the way down or with the half doors and rear window off. Gas mileage was between 17-19 mpg for the duration, running to between 1/4 and empty before filling it up. She's got a lot of mileage we flipped 195k on the trip and I did have to add a 1/2 quart of oil about the 2k mark so I am ok with that. It was a glorious drive through the Florida Keys with the top off, even when we got caught in rain and soaked.....vacation is over and it's back to work today.

Got my new soft top fitted - I'd forgotten what it was like to drive my Jeep with any kind of roof on :ROFLMAO:

As you can probably see, I also added the Crown A-Pillar light mounts, that did not make me so happy. In their wisdom som eidiot decided that providing new fixings that were either the same length or in one case actually shorter than the old ones was a good idea. That despit the fact the bracket adds a considerable extra amount the bolts have to go through. I got three in, but the ones on the front surface just won't grab on the thread in the body. So for the sake of a slightly longer fixing I have gone from a potentially happy customer to a really unhappy one!

Jeep decided not to want to start back up on Friday right as I was leaving work. Looks like the fuel pump decided to die. No pump hum at all. All fuses look good. Picking up a new pump assembly today and will drop tank and replace. Luckily I have less than 1/4 tank lol.

Happy Father's day everyone

I wont get the Crown ones then! I think the KC,s may be a better fit? I put them in my Amazon basket yesterday until I look at other options.
