I need advice on wheel width and backspacing for less common tire sizing (new tires, wheels, and lift)

With 5.5" BS, my 10.5" wide tires would rub on the control arms at full lock when I first installed them. To remedy the situation, I simply installed a washer behind the steering stop. Here's a good thread that explains how to do this.

Good point. My inspiration has been this Jeep. I know not everyone will be a fan, but I think it looks neat. If only I could track down those wheels...


Oh, wow. That washer trick seems way too easy—I'm going to try that tomorrow. I'm sick of hearing that nasty grinding noise when I turn sharp. Thanks!

If I remember correctly, when the owner posted that pic on Expedition Portal, he said they were from Stockton Wheel.
