04 Rubicon - Ignition starter switch question

I have a no crank/no start issue. Yesterday, my jeep cranked a few times and then stopped. I turned the key again and there was no crank. I took the ignition switch and actuator apart to check the pin. I should be able to start the jeep with a screwdriver in the ignition switch, correct? There was no crank when I did that. Am I correct in thinking the ignition switch is bad? I’ve had starting issues in the past but they’ve typically be related to bad battery connections.

Can’t answer that question until you check for twelve volts on the starter signal wire. When you turn the key to the start position do you have twelve volts dc on the small gauge wire on your starter?

I just tried that. I am not getting anything with the probe on the signal wire.

Have you checked the clutch pedal switch to see if it has continuity when you press the clutch in ?
IF you have continuity on the clutch pedal switch; inspect the wiring on the ignition switch for signs of overheating.

Put it in 4L to bypass the clutch safety switch.

And what was the condition of the ignition actuator pin?

Have you checked the clutch pedal switch to see if it has continuity when you press the clutch in ?

I’m having some trouble checking the continuity of the clutch switch. I’m not exactly sure of the best way to test that. The multimeter is mostly foreign to me outside of some basic tests.

Here is what I tried just now. Separated the actuator pin from the switch, put the t-case in 4 low to bypass the clutch, used a screw driver to turn the ignition switch. There was no crank. It should crank right?

Yes, I tried putting it in 4low and I used a screwdriver to turn the ignition switch to start. Still no crank.

It's not the clutch safety switch then if the starter didn't spin the engine over.

Yes, all the lights work, radio turns on, fuel pump engages.
