2005 Wrangler LJ colors

I saw in a thread on soft tops where the Bestops come in two different colors/shades.....Black Denim and Black Diamond. My top appears to be the denim one, which got me thinking. I was going to replace the plastic fender flares (or whatever they're called) because I thought they were faded, but now I'm wondering. Did the silver LJs back then come with grey plastic instead of black?

A related question, this jeep also has a receiver under the rear bumper. It appears to be a separate unit, with a tow hook on the driver's side. No electrical hardware for towing trailer than I can see. Is this something that may have been added on by a previous owner or was this an option back then?

yes hitch was probably added later and can be removed, I did his on my TJ...I do believe flares and hardtops sometimes came in gray, usually it is just faded though.

The fender flares were actually painted by Chrysler, the underlying plastic is a gray color but usually not uniform (ie. it has lines and stuff in it), mine began to peal sometime ago and I have not bothered to re-paint them yet, it is on my to do list......
