The Jeep would be black so I would not touch painting the engine bay or interior as I don’t think it would look odd black. So, it would be exterior paint + hood + door jams.

That would probably work ok as long as you go with the orange and add some black exterior accessories, like rockers, corner armor, bumpers, etc.

It’s actually the approach that orange one in the picture took. It was originally black and did a respray the same as I’m thinking.

Even still, to do a nice paint job is going to be 3K and up. That's if you find a black one. Any other color will look goofy.

To give some context I estimate there’s about 170 Impact Orange LJRs in existence which fit my criteria. And as it is a rare color often for the clean ones people charge more. I talked to someone who was looking for one and gave up after a year so that has me considering respraying as a good option.
