After my 32RH trans goes into 3rd gear the torque converter locks up soon after, no matter the rpm or speed.
Even if I’m just going slow it locks up and the engine lugs.
Any idea what’s going on.
Thanks.

It's likely to lock up soon if you're driving slowly or non-aggressively at any reasonable cruising speed. What does it do when you're accelerating and it should not be locked? What happens if you disconnect the TCC connector at the rear of the transmission?

If I’m accelerating more aggressive it still locks up shortly after it goes into 3rd gear. But the RPMs are higher and the engine doesn’t lug.

When I’m accelerating in third gear It’s still locks up early in my opinion

See what happens after disconnecting the TCC connector. If nothing changes the problem is with the torque converter lockup system. If it stops locking up I'd suspect the PCM.

Rethink this… if you unplug the tcc solenoid and it stops locking up…. All that tells us is that you unplugged the tcc solenoid.

Eddie, when it’s locked up, and then you step on the gas pedal hard to accelerate, does it unlock?

Is your speedometer accurate?

Is your TV cable adjusted correctly?

My TV cable I did adjust and I like the new position better. When I step on the Excelerator hard it jumps down to second gear I guess, it’s not just unlocking the torque. And my speedo meter or a speedometer is not accurate because of my tires I guess. The 488 gears Are a little too low for highway driving because my RPMs are around 2500 at 50 miles an hour or so.

Fix the speedo. The PCM has a minimum mph it senses to lock the torque converter. I think it’s 35 mph if I remember correctly. If the PCM thinks you’re going faster then your lockup won’t work properly.

OK I think I have to go to the dealer to have the electronic speedo corrected. I have the super short SYE which deleted the speedo mechanism.

No just order up a speedohealer for around $100. Pretty easy to install and you program it yourself based on speedometer speed reading and actual speed using a gps app.

No, it confirms the problem is not inside the transmission.
The tcc cannot lock up if it’s unplugged. If it did the valve body is severely messed up. If that was the case it would not be locking up early, it would probably be always locked up..
