98 TJ wheel spacers

Thanks to everyone, I'm finally getting to the bottom of this. I'll get new spacers. So I should get 5x4.5 to 5x5 spacers that are 1.25" I believe, does that sound right?

Brand wise - from the digging I've done, spidertrax is recommended but also syngery?

I think that is what I need. $300 for all four wheels... other brands on ebay are in the $70-$100 range for 4. I know this has probably been beaten to death is there a mid-range spacer company that builds in the usa? Synergy is another brand that pops out but I couldn't find the 5x4.5 to 5.5 at 1.25" only 1.5"

Thanks again
I would rather spend a little more and get new wheels before I spent $300 dollars for spacer/adapters.

Since I have the pockets in the back of my wheels I could stick with 1" spacers. Is there any other considerations to going with something wider other than looks?

It looks like a 1” spacer puts you right at 5.25” backspacing, which is the same as a stock 7” wheel. The OEM 8” wheels had 5.5” of backspacing. 1.25” spacers would leave you with 5” BS.

If you don’t have any fitment issues with your current setup, you should be fine to stick with a 1” spacer. However, a 1.25” wouldn’t hurt and would give you a little more space behind the wheel if needed. Either should be fine.

I went with the synergy adapters. They only make the 1.5" adapters if i recall correctly for the TJ bolt pattern. I used them to put the JL wheels on and lined up perfectly on the fender flare. I would either do the 1.25 spidertrax or synergy if going with spacers/adpaters.

Are you sure you want to stick with those wheels? Maybe so, if you weren't planning on (budgeting for) a new set of rims and tires too.

Keep in mind that if you do go back to 5x4.5 OEM spacing, wheels spacers/adapters hold their value pretty well for re-sale on Facebook or eBay. I've sold a few pairs quickly and easily that way.

Yeah I'll probably stick with them. I'll keep that in mind if I want to change wheels at some point.
