A heads up to anyone looking to buy a TJ with a 32RH transmission

Where would you go to get a your 32 rebuilt? I am in mid Missouri.

I looked around local not a lot of people rebuilding transmissions. I could go to St Louis or Kansas City but it's hard to authenticate reputation.

I'd go with a transmission shop that has the best warranty on their work. I knew a guy that gave 7 year warranties on his.

Are the rebuilt 32RH at Autozone worth it? Mine has 328K miles and started slipping recently.

I changed the filters and fluid, it slips until it warms up, as it is my daily driver I would rather fix it before it goes out.

What are they charging for such a thing?

Have you checked its ATF level correctly to make sure the ATF level is all the way up to the full line? The engine MUST be running and the transmission MUST be in Neutral while checking its ATF level. If the engine's not running or it's in Park the dipstick will erroneously indicate there's more ATF there than there really is.

If it's low insert a small funnel into the dipstick tube and bring it up to the full mark with ATF+4. And where an automatic transmission is concerned it's better to be slightly overfilled than slightly underfilled which can cause it to slip.
